My cat Sonny's eye is swollen and runny today.

He's asthmatic and gets two puffs of Flovent each day for the last week and a half. Could that be the cause? I thought I've had the device fit well over his nose/mouth but maybe not close enough? I'd heard the albuterol should avoid eyes for sure but he hasn't had that in days. He's on an antibiotic for a cough (Clavamox) as well as prednisolone until the Flovent builds up in his system.

When you say he's on clavamox for a cough, has he been diagnosed with a URI?  That would explain the stuffy nose and the discharge from the eyes in the photo.

No his lungs were clear she thought maybe it was something in the nasal area, but this is new and only started yesterday. Today is his 7th day on Clavamox. Maybe he got some of the Flovent in his eye. That's all I can think.

It sounds and looks like he has a URI nd that would be a reason why a cet would proscribe Cloavamox.  He may need eye meds too.

His eye was back to normal or so I thought but tonight it's clouded over and a little swollen again. It wasnt swollen at all yesterday and last night I spent plenty of time with him and it wasn't cloudy. I'm not sure if it's something that is harder to see in daylight or not but I just noticed it tonight. Infection?? Blindness?? He's off Clavamox now and not doing any coughing. I think i must've accidentally gotten Flovent in his eye and now it's developed into an infection.

See!! It's so creepy this hasn't ever happen to him. He is not scratching at it or anything but it's clearly clouded over. Not running, a tiny bit swollen. Yesterday his eyes looked normal, the day before the right eye was swollen and runny. :/

He is at risk of loosing site in that eye and needs to see a vet ASAP.

When the cornea has that blue gray film, usually indicates the cornea is inflamed. Vets look for any disruption of superficial cells in the cornea, aka an abrasion or laceration that could lead to an ulcer. If they flourescein stain the eye and there is no uptake of stain anywhere along the cornea, anti-inflammatory drops are usually prescribed to treat corneal inflammation. This shouldn't be prescribed unless  they know there is no ulcer or the ulcer gets bigger due to the steroid/NSAID drops. Hope he is set right soon with no more problems starting.

Update:

Called vet yesterday AM as soon as they opened and got an appointment for 4:10 (their soonest available).

Sunday the eye wasn't as cloudy but by yesterday it looked like this

!!!

So took him in at 4:10. Vet did a stain test which was fine. She did a pressure test. She said the cloudy eye measured 20 which she said was still within normal, while the good eye measured at 13. Obviously they should be closer in range, but she said 20 isn't a horrible measurement.

She dx'd uveitis and prescribed a steroid eye drop for three times a day.

After only his second treatment, the cloudiness is completely gone. Following up tomorrow afternoon for another pressure test but since the eye drop was effective, is it safe to assume she's right about the dx of uveitis?

I'm trying to figure out what happened. I accidentally got some of his asthma inhalant med in his eye the day before his eye was swollen and runny. Friday his eye looked fine then the cloudiness started Saturday night. She said it could've been that, and didn't seem too worried about him getting it. But all I've read suggested it often means worse issues like immune system problems, etc.

He used to get URIs every year until he was 6. Got one for the first time in almost 8 years after I started the asthma treatment. Now the issue with his eye. So it might be related I guess to the asthma treatment, or a sign that overall there's something more going on with his health. Although, again, the vet didn't seem to be too concerned.

Anyway.... uveitis it is.
