Good morning all! I'm up very early this morning. Had trouble sleeping last night and was up on and off all night. I guess I deserve it this time since I've been sleeping until 11:00-12:00 the last 3 mornings!

No big plans for today so we'll just see what the day brings. I need to follow up on some new job leads and that is about it!

My new Texan Au Pair arrived yesterday evening and today is her first full day. On the face of it she seems very open and friendly and she's very good with Dominik.

We're doing a trail period for about 10 days as she's going back home for Christmas, and if we're both happy (her and I) then she'll come back in the new year. I hope it works out, it was quite stressfull trying to find someone who I feel can be reliable - she's quite disciplined as she was in the US army.

I'm catching up with office work from home today and tomorrow have a big potential new client meeting in London. My poor husband has a meeting in town today, and what with the trains not running (what's new) and the Rugby World Cup Victory Parade through the West End, I think he'll have a job getting to his meeting on time!!!

Ferdy has a vet appointment this afternoon at 4 - although he seems OK, I'm a little worried as he is very lethargic. It was a big op though . . .

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning all!

Tamme, I'm sorry you didn't sleep well last night. Good luck with the job search.

Yola, Hope everything goes well with the girl from Texas.

I just arrived at work. I slept all last night, but I don't feel like I did. A good friend of my family passed away yesterday. You know when you cry a lot, the next day you feel like a wet dishrag. He and his wife had been married 55 years. Can you imagine loosing your spouse after 55 years? They still held hands. Got to stop thinking about this, as my eyes are welling up again.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Nora, so sorry to hear about your family friend!

Yola, I hope all goes well with the Au Pair and with Ferdy!!

Tamme..I hope one of these job leads works out for you! Keeping my fingers crossed!

I am up earlier than usual today...just woke up at 5:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I have so much on my mind with getting ready to go to school next month. Some of the classes I will be taking sound rather hard...like Business Economics, Document Processing, and Machine Transcription (just to name a few) I also have to take Accounting and I have never had any accounting in my life and am not real good with math.
I'm kinda scared I may fall flat on my face, but since the NAFTA program is paying for it, I really have nothing to lose by trying, and if I do make it through, I will have my degree. I am taking the Office Systems Specialist course.
I am not going to be too hard on myself if I can't make it through, though...at least I will know I tried as hard as I could.

I don't have much planned for today...just hanging out with Amber!

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Nora, I am so sorry about your friend.

Debby, by reading your posts, I think you seem like an intelligent woman, a compassionate woman, and I believe you will do well in school. You can do it girl.
A free education - that sounds good!
I wish you all the best in school! And also, please ask for help if you need it, I am sure there are a LOT of people here who would love to help you.

I had moved that Mondays be banned from the calendar forever. Looks like no one listened to me.

Its so cold, I want spring to hurry up and get here already!

I hope everyone has a lovely day!

Debby, Don't be afraid of bookeeping. It really doesn't have a lot to do with math (just adding and subtracting) and most bookeeping is done by computer nowadays. Bookeeping is one of the duties I perform for the company I work for. I used to do it all by hand (double entry system), but now the computer does most of the work for me. You just need to interpret what the computer generates. It is easier than you think. Good luck with your classes.

Movin' on up!
Can we just cancel today? I hate Mondays. Rowdy woke me up at 5:30, by knocking things off of the dresser. I think that she's mad at me, for spraying vinegar on the Christmas tree. Buddy has been leaving it alone, too. Opie just sits nearby and admires it.

I didn't sleep well - something that I ate did not agree with me and I was up several times. Every time that I came back to bed, I had to evict Buddy from my pillow. He is welcome to share the pillow but, he CAN'T have the whole thing!

Debby, good luck with going back to school.

I second the motion to outlaw Mondays, starting with today. The cats decided at 5:15 AM that it was time for me to get up. I'd only gotten to bed around 2:30, so that wasn't very considerate of them.
But I am up now and cats have been fed, so all is well.

Stepped outside last night at around 2 AM, it was so very still, the full moon shone like silver on the snow, and the stars twinkled in a deep blue sky. If it hadn't been 15 degrees, I could have stood there for hours just drinking in the beauty of it. But BRRRR it was cold!! Woke up with 12 cats on me, I guess they agreed that it was cold!

Vinegar on the Christmas tree? I think I need to do this. Mittens decided to take the bows off of the presents and pull them to shreads.

Anyway, our internet connection has been out since Thursday evening, and Time Warner said that they were not going to be able to make it out until Wednesday to fix the problem!! Zack has had a terrible head cold and was in bed most of the weekend. My sisters did come over this weekend, and they wore me out with all the shopping we did. I also watched my 2-year old cousin, Kassidy, on top of that. I had a pretty good weekend! Just tired from the lack of sleep that I got from Zack being sick all night long. Didn't like getting 60 new emails this morning, since my internet has been down. But, hopefully they will fix the problem soon and we can have it again at home. I finished school on Saturday; took my Geology final that morning. Now, I have 6 weeks off until the next semester! Woo hoo!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

I hope Ferdy's vet visit turns out well. I can relate though... It's been almost 3 weeks since my operation and I still feel lethargic much of the time! Keep us updated on what the vet says.

Hello to all!I think there is a cat conspiracy going as my kitties woke me up at 5 this am also for pettings. I agree with outlawing Mondays they are the worst in my working history! every other day I am fine but Mondays stink seriously. forunately I have the day off and am currently sitting here playing on the computer and getting ready to clean up the house AGAIN! WHY oh WHY can't the house stay clean for a week? it's only two people and four cats?? what's going here? LOL! Later tonight I am going on my weekly shopping fun with my friend. We always do ti on Mondays who knows why it just started out on that day and has kept going. This is the day I get all the rest of the things I need for my Humane Society basket(so to speak). Then Thurs I am going to go up there and give it to them(if they are opened)I'm so happy and looking forward to this!
Hopefully this day will become the first good Monday in History for all of us???

Well, I took the kids to school this morning at 8, as usual. No sooner had I stepped in the door than I got a call from the school to come pick them up because the furnace was broken
Its a darn good thing I'm off work for a bit and was home, or it would have been quite a problem.

My son has come down with the flu today as well. When he got home from school he was a lot less energetic than normal and was happy to lie on the couch and watch a movie. Then he started feeling headachy, nauseous and now he has a fever. Hes in bed asleep right now, and its 3:02 pm
I don't want to wake him to give him anything for his fever, so I'm hoping he wakes up on his own soon.

This is not a very good day at all
Its started out so well, I was sipping my first coffee of the day by the light of the Christmas tree and reading the new posts on here. It went downhill from there

Mondays. Bleck.

The vet thinks Ferdy is doing OK. I have some more painkillers for him and must keep a VERY close eye on him to make sure he's not going downhill at all. With his FIV, he does need to be watched closely.

Stitches out next Monday, but he has to be put under anaesthesia again for this.

Thanks for all your good thoughts, hopefully he'll be on the mend now and will be with us for many years to come!!!

Well, Tuesday here... OMG it's already Tuesday.. and I got up at about 10AM to watch a few re run shows. Got on the computer and have been munching on grapes, bananas and sandwhiches all morning. Man I love the holidays!
Mum is at the Hairdressers getting her hair dyed a lighter blonde and I have a bunch of chores to do before she gets back! It's lunchtime here now and I'm feeling rather sleepy might have a quick nap before hand!

Tamme, Lots of luck with finding a job, I hope you get one soon.

Yola good luck with the Au Pair and I'm glad the vet said that Ferdy was OK, I hope he stays with you for many more years as well
Hugs to Ferdy boy!! and you and Dominik!!

Lots of luck for going back to school Debby, I hope you are having a nice day with Amber.

Cindy, I always love your kitty stories, especilly today it made me LOL. Keep it up!

Sue, that sounds lovely. It's so hot here at night if a cat tried to sleep on me it wouldn't last five minutes with the way I toss and turn!

Candie, it's nice to see you back!

Melissa it was lovely chatting on MSN with you today I hope your lttle boy gets better!

Sesselja, glad you and Oliver are feeling better!

That's all for me for now. Have a nice day ya'll.

Bill came home to a mess: two hairballs, in the middle of the living room floor, a couple of ornaments down and a present shoved under the couch. In addition, Bill's stocking was not only down, the hook had been pulled out of the wall. Somebody was on a rampage, today! Bill is threatening to peg the whole bunch to the clothesline.

After a halfway decent start, to the day, it got cold, windy and rainy. Needless to say, I didn't smoke much, today. Bill didn't get much done, either - the shop flooded and he wasn't going to lay in puddles. Thank goodness, we're looking toward 65 and sunny tomorrow.
