This is my kind of question haha! I really can't stand any meat, bread (includes sweet bread and pastries and cake), potatoes, garlic, pasta, crisps (like potato crisps), most nuts, and most sweets... I think I'm forgetting something...

@betsygee  my mum has the same reaction to raisins!

Corn

Brussels sprouts

Zucchini

Oysters

Chitterlings (a Southern thing )

I'm sure there are others but these are the top foods I hate.

In Japan there is something known as natto. It's made from fermented soy beans, smells like old socks and is covered in this disgusting sticky gloop. I've never tasted it, the sight and smell of it is enough to put me off.

Japanese people like to mix it with a raw egg and some soy sauce and pour it over rice. Apparently it's really good for you, but then so is drinking your own urine.

I've seen and read of natto and its benefits, but I've never had the heart to try it. I watched an episode of a Japanese TV show where 5 guys try something like 18 brands and guess which one they tasted earlier, but watching them eat it seemed so.. unpleasant. I feel like the stringiness would make me gag.  A Hong Kong Youtuber I follow uses it topically on her face too, claiming its benefits. I feel like if I ever got some and couldn't stomach it, I'd just plug my nose and smear it on my face.

Guess it's one of those acquired tastes, like Cory mentioning durian. The after taste of durian (not even the fresh fruit, an airy cake I tried last week) reminds me of onion farts. I love onion breath from onions, but durian was a bit different... I was desperate to eat something else to get it out of my mouth and was afraid if I brushed my teeth after, my toothbrush would hold the smell/flavour.

I haven't tried it, but even without trying it I'm pretty sure I'd dislike balut too. My Viet friends tell me they love it.

LOL, I'm sure there are lots of things in the world I WOULD NOT eat (like balut and blood sausage and those pee eggs, etc.) but if they're not common here I don't worry about it :D. I figure we're talking about something someone might reasonably make for dinner and I would have to refuse, not some obscure something that might exist somewhere.

I remember natto, and it's gross and slimy. Raw sea cucumber is like chewing on an old tire. "Don't chew it!" they say. Ugh. But since I don't live in Japan anymore it's not an issue ;).

I do like regular sushi/sashimi though. And I LOVE nori. I'll even eat it plain. I'm glad it's available in mainstream grocery stores now; we used to have to go to the military commissary to find any. I used to love takoyaki (octopus on a stick) but I doubt I could stomach it now.

Lutefisk is nasty but nobody really likes it anyway. Or nobody admits to it at least! :lol3: People only eat it for tradition.

If I could afford to eat only sushi/sashimi I would.  It's the food which makes me the happiest after eating it emotionally, and physically.

i guess i'd have to say liver, like in liver and onions. it's not that i dislike the liver or onions, even together. it's that there's an aftertaste left in my mouth from the liver that is very unpleasant.

many foods i dislike prepared certain ways, like turnips and eggplant and okra. but prepared other ways, like breaded and baked sliced okra, i do like them. i've never had rutabaga prepared in a way that i like it, so there's another one for me.

oh, and chocolate or anything with caffeine in it. i just don't "do" caffeine.

MissM whatever do you find to eat?!

I don't eat meat or fish either, but I never have so I don't know if I like it or not. It's just after being vegetarian for this long the idea of eating an animal is just plain creepy.

Green Tea Chocolate!  (Kidding, @Norachan..
.  It was delicious, despite your warnings..
) (It was in my Secret Santa Stash)

Back when I ate meat, I remember being served Steak and Kidney pie.  The taste and texture of the kidney bit actually made me physically sick.

They do Cherry Blossom flavour chocolate too. My next Secret Santee had better be prepared.

I love the combination of cherries and chocolate.  It started when I was a kid and we always had chocolate covered cherries at Christmas time, not sure what the connection is but we always had them.  Then I was stationed in Germany and discovered Black Forest Cake.

I very much dislike any food in a white sauce such as fettuccini Alfredo.

 I hate Brussel Sprouts.

 Don't like fast food.

No pickled anything.

I am not fond of anything  that is to cheesy.

Yams with marshmallow on top. Yuck.
