Hi everyone,
My 15 years old female cat Enya has always had ear problems with wax buildup in the ears that has to be cleaned.
She and my other 3 cats came down with a cold but seemed to get well.
Enya starting shakeing her head and scratching at her ears .
Time to clean them again I thought,so I did a cleaning with 1/2 strength peroxiod to water as useull and it seem to be ok for about a week.
Then the same thing with the ears happened but with a fever this time over the weekend.
So I treated the fever and took her to the vet that next week because even though the fever had broke she startted wobbleing and didnt seem to be with it and to hear me ,so I thought inner ear infection and thats what the vet said and put her on antibioctics over aweek ago.
At time of the vet visit I told him the others have startted shaking their heads too and I asked mites maybe?
So he gave meds to treat all just in case,
Enya still is wobleing and can't hear me a week after visit !
I called back and was told to give it more time for the 10 day antibioctics to do their job.
Ive been so worried that its taking so long for her to heal, and if it could be a worse problem!
Has any one been through this or have any sujestions?

Hi, Kay Re.

How, exactly, did you "treat the fever" ?

Hi White Shadow,
She was treated for fever by giving her some catnip tea and placing her on a cool tile floor for a little while.
It was the safest thing I knew to do before getting her to the vet.
Thankyou for responding.
