My 3 year old cat Calypso is heavily pregnant. 7-8 weeks. Maybe more. First litter. I've read all of the forums about what to expect with imminent birth. But my girl is throwing mixed signals. She has been checking out various nest spots all day today, drinking like a horse, she's swishing her tail constantly. She has NO discharge. She bring very quiet. Just kinds looking at me. Purring allot. I can see and feel the kittens moving for about 3-4 days now. Large nipples but no milk. I'm curious to know if she is close? I just need an idea of how far along she is. Thank you :)

The description as such sounds like its close, a couple of days perhaps.

But you usually feel the kittens move at least two weeks before the delivery day (somewhat less clearly the last day before delivery).

And you tell you feel them move the last 4-5 days.  So, if you use to feel on her tummy regularly, and you are sure you didnt missed the moves a whole 10 days running, this means she has probably about 10 days left.

Anyway, prepare as well you can, wait, and hope for the best.  AND enjoy the experience.   There isnt much else to do.   :)

You got our links?

Good luck!

My cat Calypso is due anyday now and my husband let her outside by mistake. She went under the house and I can't get her. I even put on coveralls and crawled under but she evaded me. Any advise or tricks to get her out??? Thank you!!:rbheart:

Smelly food and lotsa of friendly talk?

Is it there anything in your home which may stress her up?  Which makes she prefer to give birth outside,  and not in the safe, secure, inside?   Or is she a semiferal whom you adopted just very recently?

No she is 3. We have had her all her life.. She just prefers outside
if you cant entice her back inside, your other option is to help her prepare a nest down there, and let her be down there.   Including food water, and litter not too far away.

Not optimal, but what to do...    Making a nest, you may later on have a chance to collect them kittens, either into a basket, or take the whole nest with you, and carry them inside.

She will follow.   I know even some semiferales did follow after inside.  (although this is no quarantee for it with real semiferales!!! - it can backfire).

Here it should work as she is your own home pet - girl.

But again, by some reason she isnt completely comfortable inside, so make sure at next try you do arrange comfortable setting up for her inside, as well you can do it.

Hello! So my queen, Calypso is due anytime really. But I'm not sure exactly when. Last night around 2am she was on the top shelf of my closet (not sure how she managed that) as well as burrowing into a pile of clothes, clearly nesting. And today at 3pm I went in to check on her and she had some goopy discharge. It was a yellowish green color and tinged with a tiny bit of brown/red. It came out twice since then. But she still has no milk? She's been laying with her bum up in the air occasionally aslo. As if she's uncomfortable. She has no tolerance for rectal temp. So I can't say what her temp is. Any help is lovely! Thank you :)

It sounds like mucus plug.  They dont always gets milk before deliver, quite a few gets milk shortly after deliver.   Although its rare they dont get milk at all.

If you wants to measure temp, a good alternative is to take it in the armpit of the foreleg.  The temp is a little lower there, 3F or one full Celsius....   but you still get a decent point of view.

Good luck!  @Calypso91
