Hello.

I would like to hear some advices from you since soon I will adopt a injured kitty. In 2 days I will bring him to stay with me permanently. His story.

What I want to know from you is what should I feed him considering he is on antibiotics.

He is 3 years old.

Thank you.

I couldn't read your kitty's story because I'm one of those who can't bare to read stories of hurt animals but wanted to say thank you for taking him in.

Did the vet say what kind of food to feed him?    Does he canned food?  It would be healthier than kibble.   Grain free canned food you can buy at Petco or any local pet boutique would be a good choice.

Canned food is healthier than dry food for all cats, just as @Lokihismom said. Look for the kinds that are mostly meat - chicken or beef, occasionally a little fish. Choose foods with little or no carbohydrates such as wheat gluten, corn gluten, etc. Cats are meat eaters, they do not digest vegetables.

Because he will be on antibiotics, get a probiotic to sprinkle on his food, just like people take when they are on antibiotics so they do not get stomach / gut upsets. If your veterinarian does not suggest a probiotic you can use the same kind people take, purchased at a pharmacy.

He is a pretty boy. I think you have found a new friend to share your life. You have done a very good thing for him, and he will appreciate it. So do we all here at TheCatSite. Well done!

And when you have a chance - more pictures, please.

I have bought him wet food from Purina.

He really likes it.
