He comes running when the fridge is open.  He likes to lick up condensation.  Sometimes he tried to crawl up inside.  Once I walked away with the fridge door closing and 30 minutes later was startles by a meow from inside the fridge.  I don't generally keep leftovers or smelly food.  Why does he insist on being in the fridge!  It used to be cute..and hey it still is...but I wish he would get another hobby.

Oh my goodness.  Have you figured out any new ways to discourage him?  Cats are so unique.  I suppose anything from the cold air to the noises or just the fact that it's off limits could attract some cats.
One of my girls is fascinated with the ice maker.  Or the water supply line for it I should say!  When we first moved in and she discovered the noise she spent a lot of time just sitting there watching the back of the refrigerator.  We had to replace the line once because she pulled it out and chewed on it.  When we went to Lowes for the replacement the sales person gave a sympathetic chuckle; apparently that's pretty common!
We've been here almost 6 years and sometimes she still will go check it out when she hears the water filling the ice tray.

Wow! Well my Rocky once climbed into the fridge also. He just walked right in & the door closed on him. Thankfully, I noticed that he was missing when I turned around & opened the door. Out he popped! I'm guessing that strong reprimanding words don't work for you? That's usually what works for mine. That, or I'll pick him up & put him elsewhere. If I know I'm going to be in there a while to clean or something, I'll put him in the bathroom.

Oh, and I also use tape to keep the freezer door open. He seems to like opening it...

Lilith and Sophie like to go into the pantry. Sophie also likes to sit on top of the washing machine when it's closed and recently tried to climb into the dryer while I was putting some clothes in. She made it up onto the lip before I asked her to get down. She did but wasn't happy about it. I told her that she would be less happy in the dryer with it going.

Hopefully he won't start opening it himself. My sister used to keep a huge elastic band around her fridge because her cat would open it and push food out for the dogs. We had to get a child-proof lock for our freezer because our last cat would pull the door open and leave it that way, so I'd come home to a huge defrosted mess.

Mogli loves to snatch stuff out of the refrigerator when you open it.

Child proof locks for the refrigerator work really well! I found one that matched my stainless steel refrigerator. I use mine to keep the freezer door closed because the seal wasn't working well. Fortunately, my cat stares at the fridge or freezer for a minute, then runs off scared.
