Hi there!

I'm a first time cat owner and just adopted a beautiful 4-year-old ragdoll named Tina, whom we renamed Celestina.

I've wanted a cat all my life and I did as much research as I could before bringing her home, but we've run into some roadblocks regardless.  I hope to find some good advice here!

Thanks!

Congratulations in getting your beautiful Celistina! And welcome to The Cat Site!   Roadblocks? You didn't really tell us what you are having a problems with. Please explain, and you will get lots of help here.

Hi!
I wasn't sure if the introduction thread was the right place to post about issues so I made separate posts - I should have specified that was what I intended to do!

In a nutshell, Celestina's gone into hiding and we can't find her. It's been a week now. She's eating and drinking and using her litter box so at least we know she's okay, but we have no idea how to find her or coax her out.

Thought I'd let you all know Celestina has been found and is enjoying being doted upon by her new Mama.  :)

She's getting more and more comfortable - she's even come near the door once or twice.  She still bolts at the smallest sounds or movements though.  Honestly I'm nervous for when the time comes to let her out into the rest of the house - I'm afraid we'll lose her again!  So I'm trying to create as many positive associations with our room as possible.  Hopefully then she'll come up to under our bed when she feels the need to hide instead of the basement!

We are leaving our door open now and just last night she ventured out into the house for the first time - but she came back to our room afterward!  Whew!
