It's an oral medication, that can by syringed directly into his mouth, or dripped onto moist food and mixed well. Most cats detect the suspension and refuse to eat the food mixture (can't slip them a mickey!), so most owners opt to give directly by mouth. If they appropriately mixed it for you already, he shouldn't need much volume, so working his dose into the back of his mouth, placing the syringe tip behind his canines is recommended. Pushing a 3rd of the dose, allowing him to swallow, and repeating, until syringe empty, is the easiest way to ensure he gets the full dose without the two of you wearing it. Amoxicillin drops are usually pink and sticky with sweet additive, so it sticks to their coat. The sweet additive does nothing to improve palatability to cats btw.

Don't forget to shake well before you draw up his dose, and return to refrigerator afterwards. It's only good for 10 days after reconstituting into the suspension, so you should dispose of any remaining rather than save it longer in the fridge.

If the dropper style syringe is too messy and won't draw up his mL dose evenly, use a plastic marked syringe with a plunger, as the draw and expression of it has better control and accuracy than the dropper. If it wasn't provided when you took the medication home, call your vet and ask for one to be ready up front later this morning. A single 1-3mL capacity volume syringe will allow for easy draw and administration.

my vet didn't say anything about refrigerating this, and he gave it because m cat had tooth abscess, but i don't understand how this is supposed to help at all if the cat just swallows the liquid, because the doctor provided me with injections to inject into the cat at home that are also betamox, wouldn't this over load the cat with betamox?
