Hey guys, had our new kitten a few months now and shes picked up fleas!

We bought a full course of flea drops, did that, gave her a bath with flea shapoo, twice and also gave her a flea collar. We've been finding fleas in our bedroom now and shes recently been confined to our living room which she aint too happy about.

please please please does anyone have any idea how to get rid of them for good?

Thanks :)

We had a major flea infestation once. You need to treat the house as well as the animals. You can get flea sprays to treat furniture, rugs etc. Really thorough vacuuming is also essential. If that doesn't work, it's probably time to call in the exterminator...

thanks for the quick replies. we used a full course of frontline spoton i think it was called. i also cleaned everything in the house, bleached all the floors and put huge pans in the bedrooms filled with water and bleach. we also fleabombed the rooms upstairs and put salt on all the carpets.

still got fleas :(

just looked at pest control and they want £60 which i just dont have atm due to my internet provider (talktalk) conning me out of £65!

i prefer to use Advantage II topical on the cat

an insect growth regulator (IGR), such as Precor,  sprayed on carpets and upholstery to stop flea eggs and larvae from developing

and then i use a flea spray for cats, such as Fiproguard fipronil spray, on carpets and upholstery to kill adult fleas. this spray can be used on cats but i use it environmentally for safety reasons. i don't like to spray my cats but if the product is safe to use on cats, it will be safe in the home environment.
