Scam phone call

Got a scam phone call this morning from someone (recording) who said it was the IRS and I need to contact them immediately before they take further action. Of course I 'd read about this calls. Phoned the Sheriiffs office and they gave me the website for the IRS scams so that I could report it (just did that). The officer said that they have been getting a lot of phone calls reporting this scam. I hate to think of all the gullible people who fall for this.

Yep, this is a big one this year.

Remember boys and girls.... don't give your info to strangers that call you out of the blue.

Also IRS will never call or email you, they only do snail mail.

Rick got that, too. We were to call the number right away. It was imperative that we call. Not going to happen. He hung up.

Yes, that call was going around here about a month or so ago. The other one was the one where the person with the heavy accent says he is from Microsoft and wants to fix the computer. I don't understand why folks fall for these calls, but I guess some must or they wouldn't keep doing it.

The one that I got claimed that a tax lein had been filed against me.  Even though I suspected a scam because I had not received any snail mail about it, it is still scary because no one wants issues with the IRS.  I googled the number and found that it had been reported already as a scam.
