I am so sorry this is my first post. I wish it could be about anything else. Daisy started going downhill last weekend. She has been to the vet Monday Wednesday and Friday. We tried Cortizone shots, antibiotics, and oral steroids. The thought is that it is probably an autoimmune issue. Yesterday she had a second Cortizone shot in a last ditch effort to help her improve. Her numbers have continued to fall (her hematocrit is 12) and she has lost 3 lbs in one week. Today later this morning I am to take her to the vet to get her checked one last time. I am so afraid I am going to have to make the decision about euthanasia today. I just can't see her suffer. Please send good thoughtsthat I will have the clarity to make a wise, loving, and unselfish decision. I am heartsore.

:hugs: My heart goes out to you. It's heartbreaking to make the final decision. I'm sure you will find the strength and clarity needed to make a decision, whatever that may be :vibes:

thanks. She is only 10 years old. My previous cats lived to be 18 and 19, so this is especially difficult. Her mother Lily is lying in my lap purring. I got them from the shelter The day Lillian had her kittens and they have been my beloved companions, my furry family, ever since. I wish I could do more for Daisy. It does not help that I have been out of work for three months.
