Cat walking circles at night?

Hey everyone. I had a interesting question. Sometimes when me and my husband are sleeping at night, Mew will walk a circle on the bed, then jump down and walk a little on the floor, then jump back up on the bed and do another circle on it. This goes on several times. I was wondering why this behavior is happening. He isn't looking for attention since he avoids our hands when we try to give him attention and he is dedicated to doing the circles a few times. Is Mew bored, is he patrolling his territory, or is it something else?

I'm not 100% sure but my cat does the same thing it close to it. He will jump up, act like he's going to lay down, the circle the bed at least once before laying happily down. I think he's just ensuring I'll not go anywhere before making up his mind to lay down.

Aww that is pretty cute!!! I bet he does want to make sure you are not leaving before he lays down.
