I recently started a project - sewing pillowcases for children in the hospital. A lady whose son was in the hospital began making him bright pillowcases and it has turned into a nationwide project. I used to sew for my kids and grandkids and still makes lab coats for my husband. But this project is so fast and easy, I am really enjoying it. The site is Www.conkerrcancer.org.

This made me wonder what kinds of activities other TCS members do for fun.

Photography is my main one.  I try to take photos daily even if it's something which nobody ever sees.

In warmer weather, I garden.  I have several rose bushes which need to be tended in various ways to ensure good flower production.  I find it enjoyable and calming.

So neat!

I spend a lot of time doing cat or bird related things, and right now, school is pretty busy. When school is out, during the time I'm not at work, I like to draw, 3D animate, and I haven't done this in a LONG time but I miss playing the piano! My dusty digital keyboard is sitting beside my computer desk still with an old song open.
I bought a little travel sized water colour set this past Christmas that I've been meaning to use more but school and work don't afford me the time.

In the spring and summer, I would like to go down to the park and go for hikes every week or two. I haven't found anyone willing to come with me regularly though. Those who are willing to go have a much slower walking pace than me so it's easier for me to go alone.

I have two jobs, both in stores, but the best part of my day is spending time with Speedy, my siamese-calico cat!

I also love to collect postcards, mostly from 1905 - 1920.  It was all the rage back then, so there are plenty out there.  I collect mine from e-bay.  I have over 200, but most old postcards are not very valuable, but I am fascinated with how exciting it must have been at that time, to get in the mail, pictures of other places, and word from loved ones.

In the summer, I like to get to the beach.  I am lucky because many beautiful beaches are within an hour's ride for me.

My life basically consists of taking care of a 2 year old and almost 5 month old. I love being their mom, but some days are hard. I can't go anywhere without my son since he will only take a bottle from me.

I do like to take them for walks and take my daughter to the park. We haven't been able to do that in a while because of the weather, but hopefully soon.

Oh, I remember those days. I had all three kids in four years. There were times when. I felt like the only adult in the world. That was the one thing I missed, adult conversation and being able to read a book without pictures!

The weather is breaking, so you'll be able to take some walks soon.

I make gemstone and silver jewellery. I also spend time with my exmoor pony (who I've had since she was 1...she's 10 now and still a cheeky little thing...she's too clever for her own good sometimes!).

You all have some enjoyable pastimes.

You all know that I love to cook. There's something about coming home after a hectic day at work, grabbing my knives and chopping vegetables. Sauteing food. I love the sizzle. I love the idea of starting with flour and yeast and finishing with a beautiful loaf of bread. The smell of bread baking soothes me and I bake some kind of bread or rolls almost every week. I love the smile on Rick's face when I'm home during the day and then he comes home and there's a plate of cookies for him on the table. It's what I do.

We both love to garden. We have a large (for us, anyway....maybe 60 x 25 feet as we always add to it every spring) vegetable garden and we spend a lot of time there with planting and then weeding and watering and then. finally eating what we grow (when the deer and raccoons don't get to it first!). It's a good feeling when we can go up to the garden, pick some summer squash, some peppers, maybe some tomatoes and throw a salad together. Or pick fresh mint for tea. Or fresh basil and oregano for pasta. We have strawberries, although they might have taken a hit this winter with the cold, and (finally!) some blueberry plants, too. I'm already checking out the new seed catalogs and we're figuring out what we want to plant in the veggie garden this year. I want to plant some raspberry bushes along the one end of the shed, where they'll get some good sun. I like raspberries, but Rick....not so much. (Unfortunately, I think bears like raspberries, too!)

We have some flower beds, too, nothing exotic, just your standard flower beds. But we enjoy them. Toward the end of the season last year, we bought our first composter and we're looking forward to getting it in production again this year. We did get some really nice compost last year. I love mowing the yard, too. Most of the time, because of foot and leg problems, I use the riding mower. But I've been known to mow with the regular mower, too. We have almost 1-1/2 acres and I can mow it by the regular mower, but it will take me two nights to do it....I can't do it in one night anymore. But I enjoy it. I put my earbuds in, set my music and just go. (I'd much rather mow the grass than shovel snow!)

I am an avid reader and will read pretty much anything. I always have five books from our library on my Nook and five more waiting on Hold. I'm constantly checking out free books and have developed a nice collection, so there's never any problem finding something to read.

Right now we are house-hunting, and that's taking up a fair amount of time. I have a job I like, and I set my own hours and work from home so that's pretty sweet. I also manage all the car stuff (insurance, washing, repairs) and all the cat care. I make everyone's dental, eye, doctor, and vet appointments. I cook dinner almost every night. I do basic repairs / painting around the house.

I love to sew and making costumes / cosplays is my very favorite thing. Our house is so tiny that it's a huge hassle to bring the sewing machine and everything else out of the closets and set it up on the dinner table every time I want to sew. Then I have to put it all away before I cook dinner. This is one of many reasons (I need space for a desk!) we are looking for a new place.

I also love to write and garden but it seems there's never enough time. Our garden is in terrible shape. Too much work and not enough fun.

I have a full time job outside of home. When I am at home,  spend most of my time catching up with my DD and my kitties.

I have started selling jewelry to supplement my income so I hope soon to have a full schedule of jewelry shows and parties in the evenings and weekends. The company don't have a catalog so people can only see the items online or at shows/parties.

I really admire photographers.  I always cut people's heads off!  I love gardening, too, although my roses never look like the catalog pix.

Duh and I totally forgot about cooking.  I do that a lot.  LOVE it.  Really good at it.

Everyone is shocked I didn't become a professional chef, or something in that industry but who had the money for that kind of schooling?  Let alone the stamina!

I like to read as much as possible. Anymore I feel like my life revolves around animals, so there's little time for anything else. :lol3:

Reading is my passion, I get up early to do it. Then gardening, whether vegetable or flower, I've got an acre that has extensive plantings and can a lot of produce every year.

When I'm not tending to Mouse's every need, or out at work, I seem to spend most of my time doing laundry and general cleaning and tidying in the apartment...  why is it that as soon as you have done housework it needs doing again?
I wash dishes and instantly more appear in the sink!   TCS does use up a lot of my time too.

I have a full time job, and very busy there right now, so by the time I get home I'm too tired to do much more than tend to my kitties and whatever else needs doing.

Cricket is addicted to the "feather bird," so I spend a good portion of the evening dragging and flying it around for her.

I volunteer at the shelter for cat care shift (give food, water, clean litter, clean up, play with [I mean "socialize"] kitties if there's time) once a week.

Read usually during lunch hour at work and before bed.

Haven't had much time lately, but genealogy is an ongoing interest.

A lot of my interests revolve around yoga, but apart from that, my garden.  And I do like to knit.

Oh I know all about that.  My lil man is almost 3 and I'm just getting to where I feel like I get to do some of my own things.  He now follows me down the hallway calling "Waaaaiit!  Wait for meeeee!"  Mostly it's sweet; i won't always be his first lady.

Most of my time is spent taking care of my 2 small kids.  We started homeschooling for preschool this past year and will continue with Kindergarten in the fall.  So that is really keeping me busy.  I've been working on some Thomas Kinkade Disney puzzles.  I plan to frame a few for my kid's bedrooms.  I also have a veggie garden and we do a little more with our yard each year.  I love to read when I have time.  I go through spurts where I like to do crossword puzzles or puzzles along those lines; just no sodoku.  When the kids are older I would love to invest in a good camera and spend more time painting.  All of those things really relax me.
