Yes, I'm late with this one. :lol3: Apparently Tuesday was National Pancake Day.

Soooooo -

Do you like pancakes? Do you eat them often? How do you like them?

I do like them, but don't eat them very often as I am on a perpetual diet. ;)

I normally have them with just a little butter. Years ago there was a breakfast place that we would go to and I would get bacon pancakes. Those were delicious.

I like pancakes though I do prefer waffles.  I am like you though I don't have them very often anymore.  I like them with butter and real maple syrup.  I don't really care for the whipped cream and fruit toppings that a lot of people like especially with waffles.  I did have some pancakes with a lot of chopped pecans mixed in with the syrup that were really good.  I love pecans, they are my favorite of the nuts.

I love light, fluffy pancakes. I don't make them very often. When I do, I make them as a pancake pie. It's just a recipe for 6 pancakes made in a rice cooker, so it reduces any oil required for cooking and.. you can eat it as a cake.
I have an overripe banana that's just asking to be pancaked this weekend.

I prefer waffles.  I don't usually eat pancakes.  They are ok, but not a waffle!

If I do eat them, it's at "breakfast for dinner" nights.  I find them too heavy to eat in the morning.

Real maple syrup for me.  You can hold the butter.  I've gotten used to not using it.

Waffles here, too! Pancakes are OK, but only with sausage. Like Karen, my diet is always ongoing, so we don't have them often. And when we do, I try to make ones that are lower in fat and calories.

Oh yes. We do like our pancakes and waffles. My grill crashed, so most of the time now I do waffles since my waffle iron is good. I forget that the plates turn on that to make a grill. Anyway, a good tip for those who make their own batter. Separate your egg yolks from the whites. Beat the whites in a separate bowl and fold them in last. It make a very light, fluffy batter, even though I do have to make a gluten free batter.

I haven't had pancakes for years!. I used to love them with lemon juice and a bit of brown sugar.

Now I'm craving pancakes, have to pick up some eggs when I go shopping later.

We've been eating them fairly often for breakfast lately. I have a picky toddler but she likes pancakes. There was one week that when I asked her what she wanted for beakfast, she said pancakes every day.

I've been craving pancakes for a week and I'm just not noticing this thread!  There must have been a reason for the craving!  DH is the pancake maker in our house; so maybe tomorrow night we can have a pancake night.  Or even better; maybe he'll take us to Bob Evans.

We do a pancake night several times a year; just whenever the mood strikes.  I don't usually make them for breakfast.  When we do pancake night we make butterscotch chip and blueberry ones usually.  I would love some maple syrup to go with them right now!  I like to serve them with eggs, hash browns and bacon.  I don't cook bacon otherwise; so it's really one of our favorite nights.  I have a good recipe for "fluffy" pancakes that I found online.

When I go out I just get regular pancakes.  I love the fruit syrups some places have!

There is tiny pancake restaurant near where my in-laws live.  It's only open limited hours but man is that place packed!  That was where I got stuck on butterscotch chip pancakes.  Mine aren't as good as theirs but I think they cook on a cast iron griddle.
