What a pretty cat @TinaP352  .  She has a gorgeous expression and her eyes look to be a nice subtle olive green.  I would love to know her name and if you know how old she is.

While the shape of your cat's face is lovely and the fur on her face looks very short and dense the fur on the rest of her body looks to be less dense and flattened to lay backwards.  Because of her fur texture I don't think he is a Russian Blue but she is just as pretty and her face is prettier than many pedigree Russian Blues I have seen.   Of course I could be wrong and there are a few other Russian Blue lovers and servants who are members here and they may also want to share their opinion ( @StefanZ  , @Mani ).

It is always hard to tell with the fur texture and colour in photographs and the most telling features are fur which is very dense and undercoat the same length as the guard hairs, no other colours or patches of white,  and the tips of the fur having no colour so they give a sheen to the fur when light shines on it but without causing any banding or stripes to appear.  If you think her fur does match this description try stroking her fur forwards as well as backwards and see if it still feels soft and easy to stroke, and if you part the fur do you see skin or is the fur so dense it is hard to part and no skin shows?  If the answer to both these questions is a yes maybe you do have a Russian Blue, perhaps not with pedigree but with key identifying features.  I'd love to know what your answers are.

Without pedigree papers you can certainly say that your cat is a Maltese cat, a name that is used for all blue and mostly blue cats.

Blue is a beautiful young cat and I am very happy to hear how great you think she is.
As well as being a really stunning looking cat she also comes across as a real character.  I'm sure you are having a whole lot of fun with her - 6 months is a fun age to share with a young cat, if exhausting.    I look forward to seeing many more photographs and hearing more stories about her antics as she grows.  @TinaP352   If you haven't noticed it before - you would be most welcome to show her off in the Blue / Gray cats thread which I have a link to in my signature at the bottom of my posts.

Heh heh, think maybe she believes she's human and likes to be at the same height as all her human companions... and wants to stand up like you too.
    Blue sounds adorable.

Can someone tell me if my 7 month old kitten is a Russian Blue? This is her photo. I have more photos if needed. Her paw pads are mauve she has the white tips and I can see some green in her eyes. I read that they get greener with age . She came to my cousins house and she couldn't find her owner so she gave her to me. Such a  sweetie. The Vet told me today she is around 7 months old.  Thanks so much for any info.

Can't say for a 100 percent certainty, but your kitty looks a lot like a Maltese, but may have some Russian Blue in her lineage. What an absolutely breathtaking pussycat!

More photos are welcome, but the head reminds me more of a Korat, than a russian blue.  So look into the Korats.   :)

But it hangs of course on the eyes, both RB and Korat have green eyes, and at 7 months it should be visible.  Of course pet quality may perhaps have a not so good green color.  A pet quality would also tend to be sold cheaply, and the owner perhaps not very eager to find her back.

Ps.  If she isnt spayed, do so asap.

Thank you. Yes, I have looked at the Korat and also the chartreux cats. It really doesn't matter, as far as my love for her. I'd just like to know more about her.

Got her first shots yesterday and in 10 days she will be spayed. Does a domestic blue have the mauve paw pads? My vet says she isn't a RB. Just a domestic  gray blue.

But, I feel she is one of these breeds listed. Thanks for your reply. Have a good day

@Sissy Joy   The cat in your avatar is very pretty and has a lovely, gentle expression.

I suspect your vet is right.  All of the blue cat breeds you are thinking about are very rare and it is unlikely that your little cat has close family pedigree links as these cats tend to be closely monitored and kept indoors by their breeders.  They are expensive to purchase (and usually only available once neutered / spayed) so few who have them as pets let them roam free.

That said, our beautiful blue pedigree cats are all ancestors of naturally occuring cat characteristics, with only a few lightly masked features maintained through controlled breeding (such as tabby markings and keeping the solid blue fur colour, desired eye colours, cat body type, and fur type).   There are a great many stunningly beautiful blue cats on this site but only a small number of them actually have pedigree papers showing that they have the necessary ancestry for them to be listed as pedigree for one of these breeds - but unless you had the pedigree papers to hand and were a very experienced cat show judge you would be hard pressed to tell which ones had the pedigree papers.

If you are looking for a way to describe your beautiful cat to others you might want to look at the shape of face, eye colour and fur type to think which general cat type your little beauty resembles, e.g. Exotic, Siamese, British or American Shorthair, etc and then use the fine title of Maltese cat to describe her.  Maltese is used to describe any cat with solid blue or mostly blue colour which is not of a specific pedigree.

It would be lovely to see some more photographs, either here on in the blue cat thread I link to in my signature (below).
