Today I became a very confused kitty mom, my year and half old cat has been showing all the signs of being pregnent. The whole nine, pinking, behaviour changes (so much more loveable), hair missing from her nipple area and even packing on the pounds in her belly area. Her last heat was mid January, don't remember the exact date. Everyone in the house was so excited for some kittens to love and probably end up keeping lol. But today the strangest thing happened, she strolled up to our dog and stared to presenting herself just like the days of heat. My question is.... Is it possible for her to go into heat while still carrying a litter (some web sites say yes and some say no, my vet laughed when I called and asked and said she must not be pregent or she is being silly!) also how would I know if she miscarried? Please help! I just don't have the cash for ultra sounds and everything at the vet right now so I am looking for advice before I have to go that route. Thank you anyone who can help!

It's possible she had a phantom pregnancy. In this case, all usual pregnancy signs happen, but she's not really carrying. Cats do not go in heat when pregnant, so she's most likely not pregnant any longer if she's being in heat now.

You can't really know if she had a miscarriage either. The mom's body retakes the kittens inside of her if it happens early on in the pregnancy and you'll never really know unless you found some green or red-ish discharge or knew for sure she was pregnant and now isn't anymore. But as cats usually lick themselves, you probably didn't find the discharge and most certainly won't anymore now.
