hi, my baby ButterBean has been missing for 4 days. To say I'm a wreck is an understatement. I'm trying to do everything in my power to find him and would like to list his breed on the posters and flyers that I'm making but unfortunately I don't know what that is. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you and please, if any of you are prayer people, any and all prayers would be appreciated as well, like I said, his name is ButterBean and I'm Alyx, his momma

Some Potential helpful info-

Bright blue eyes w/ round pupils- not typical cat slits

He was born all white with a brown tail but has a brown patch on his back, brown tail and brown on his face

pink nose

6 toes on front and back feet

not long haired but his hair is longer than my other cats- sheds like crazy in summer

His coat is SOOO soft, like a bunny

he doesn't meow a lot but he talks non stop-I call it his squeaking.

Hope those details can help- thank you in advance for any help you can give

I JUST WANT MY BABY HOME

There is a name for the extra toes cats, they are called Hemingway Cats because there is a large group that used to belong to Ernest Hemingway and still occupy his place in Key West.  (You can google Heingway Cats to learn more).  The technical name for the extra toes condition is "polydactyl" but people looking at a "Lost Cat" poster don't know breeds any more than you do, so in this case a desription would be best.   Just say something like you did above.  You could call him a "Ragdoll Mix" which is what I call mine, but if I were doing a LOST CAT poster, I wouldn't say that, I would just describe him, and be sure to offer a REWARD because he's so cute people might want to keep him!

I agree with above.  You dont need to put any labels, most people dont know much about cat breeds anyways.

So yes make do a description, not too exact in every detail, so you can prove yourself by giving the last missing detail.

Im not sure you are aware, he looks like he looks because he is a so called point  ("siamese mix", or "ragdoll mix" as mentioned above).

Point with white, or mitted point.   I think he has also some stripes?  If so,  he is tabby too,  lynx point in cat fanciers langueage.   mitted lynx point would be the cat fanciers description.

But as said,  very few people would recognize these words...  But if someone phones you and tells:  I found a mitted lynx point, may it be yours??

ah, ps, 6 toed cats are also sometimes called for a ships cat, at least in Sweden.   DONT use the word, but again, good you know if someone phones and tell you this.

Good luck!
