I almost tried one. I say almost because when I opened the package it was in, a bunch of the scented coating fell off. The more I touched the collar, the more came off. I said that is it..I did not want my kitty to be ingesting that stuff. I also did not want to track it all over the house..

I decided to try the feliway plug ins. I heard mixed reviews; they are expensive.

I was skeptical at fist, but when I did not replace them, (upon them being empty), I noticed Artie's stress acting up.

It took a while, but now I do not use anything at all. I think they are worth the money.

I got them through Amazon. I think that is the cheapest place for them.

I have never used them on my cats.  Yet my neighbor used one on one of her cats and he developed a rash at the site of the collar.  She did not like that he kept licking it.  He also goes outside sometimes and the collar is not break away.

I personally like Composure Liquid Max that you mix into wet food.

Feliway plug ins and the spray work well too.  I always have one plugged in and have the spray available for any spots I need a quick spray.  Amazon is definitely the best price.

So, do you have to put the plug ins in every room of your house?? My cats pretty much have run of the mill here & they won't be happy being confined to only certain areas. How often do you have to replace them?  Does one plug in do an entire room?

You can look online at the exact details of how much area one feliway covers.  I have them in the rooms where the cats spend the most times together.  They are expensive.  You can also use the Comfort Zone spray in areas where the cats hang together on occasion.

The plugs ins last 4-6 weeks.

I buy on Amazon for the best price.

One diffuser covers an area of about 600 sq. feet and lasts roughly four weeks, depending on air circulation in your home. You can buy refills for the diffuser.

I have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment; about 1200 sq feet.

At first, I used one in the great room, one in my bedroom (that is where Artie stays a lot) and one in the kitchen.

They lasted at least a month.

I slowly cut done on them. I discontinued the one in my bedroom and then the one in the kitchen.

I kept the one in the great room for a lot longer, maybe about a year. Artie is a very skittish cat. Apartment living noises bother him, along with fireworks.

I also have the Comfort Zone spray for his cat carrier. I used to put a good spray in it about 20 minutes before putting him in it. I do not know if that helped him, but I tried.

Have you ever tried Rescue Remedy? It is an herb based relaxation concoction. A lot of people have good results with that. The dose is a few drops in the drinking water. I think it really helped Artie. He does not drink water because he eats wet food with extra water added. I put a few drops in with his food..

Jackson Galaxy's stuff did not help at all...

just some ideas from me because I tried everything...and spent a lot of money going through this...

Good Luck

I just bought 4 from Amazon to begin with & see how they work before I buy anymore or any refills. Yes, I'm familiar with Rescue Remedy & actually have some but I have a lot of water bowls including one for our Golden Retriever so that would not last very long. I could try putting some in the wet food for now until I receive the plug-ins. So, thanks for the suggestion.
