So my cat got out on Christmas day.. We found her 2 days later and hoped that she wasn't pregnant.. Hubby realized about 4 wks later that her nipples were changing and basically confirmed when Her belly changed.. Here's my issue.. I thought she was due last Thursday which was the 27th.. On Wednesday hubby said she was bleeding a bit.. I got home and it was confirmed walked in she was under the coffee table and it looked like she was in full labor.. After an he she stopped. Not sure if she was stressed because we were staring at her.. We separated our other 2 cats from her just incase. Put her in daughters room and kept checking on her but didn't notice anything.. The next day nothing and the next day nothing.. Yesterday, Saturday feb 28th.. She started spotting again. I felt her tummy and it doesn't seem like there's any kittens in there.. Can't remember how it felt before but I think it felt harder.. Hubby thought he felt a fludder of movement but now we are unsure.. We had very obvious signs of pregnancy.. Not to mention the day we thiught she went into labor her nipple sacks filled full which now they dont.. I'm worried that she had a stillbirth. We can't find them.. Or looking at other stuff in her the latest day she could've gotten pregnant is Dec 27 which means by the other posts she's do today?? Some thought she had a fake pregnancy..

This picture is from a few days ago the day I thought she went into labor.. The previous one is her nipple and it seems less full from milk like the other day.. I wish I took one when it was full

Did you observed her the whole time when she seemed to be in full labor?  If not, its fully possible as you think: she delivered one or two stillborn, and ate up them.  In such a case, you wouldnt notice anything, perhaps some wet spots.

Or even, they werent dead, but if she was stressed enough, she could eat her kittens anyways.  They can do so if stressed in extremis.  This is rare in normal home situations, but as said, if the stress bad enough, may happen.

The other explanation may be, she had some precontractions when you saw her, and after that she dropped, so you she apperars smaller, and you dont feel the ktitens as clearly.  And thye may come anytime...

Cats manage a little too long pregnancies better than humans.  But too short much worse.

If you worry, and are unsure, taking her to a vet may be wise, if  you do have access to a good vet.   You will at least know, if there are kittens inside, or if she is empty.

Btw, she didnt "happened" to get out at Christmas.  They do sneak out when in heat, and they feel a tom nearby.   And the toms do feel a female in heat, so they tend to be nearby.

If you dont want to have kittens, the only safe precaution is to spay them in time.

Good luck!  @dorothy5334

Well she's not an outside cat at all.. We left Christmas morning and sometimes we'd catch her outside but we were gone 10 hrs and realized the next day what might've happened. It was extremely stressful went out posted flyers and hunted her for 2 days before we found her.. She wouldn't come to us at all.. She was with and orange and white stripped male cat and wound leave it.. It wasn't in our complex and we were desperate to get her back. It was like she was possessed she bit me 2 times my whole hand was bloody and has a horrible infection my hand swelled up and was 2 times the size as the other one. It has been a nightmare. I rescued 2 other cats as well and didn't spay then till 3 years after we got them. Both were sisters. Since my cats are inside I didn't think I would have an issue. But because we write gone so long and she couldn't get back in we thought we lost her.. Everyone said she'd return but I had a gut instinct that we wouldn't unless we found her. I'm going to try to find a lost cost vet tomorrow so I can find out something.. My 9 year old would be extremely traumatized of something happened to the kittens now. Even though it wasn't meant to be. Her hamster died last wk so I can't deal with something else going wrong..
