Probiotics Amounts?

i am new to forum. i have Jack a 16 lb ragdoll with all of a sudden stomach issues. i feed purina wet indoor formula with some dry kibbles. jack began throwing up not eating. took to vet. blood test urinalysis perfect. xrays showed a slightly thickened small intestine wall. and appeared bunched up. but during xray he was under sedation and green diarreah blew out. lots of it. vet thinks he ate something still uncertain. but he did catch a cold after stressed out and on clavamox. some diarreah but now seems to be firming up. he eats but i now give him 1/3 of the 5.5 oz can 3x aday with kibbles on side. lots of water. HERES MY QUESTION.i bought ultimate flora human probiotic. its 10 strain 15 billion. i cut capsule in half and gave morning. then at night. so he gets entire capsule in 2 sessions. IS THIS TO MUCH I AM CONFUSED AND WANT TO BE CAREFUL. PS AFTER 2 DAYS ON FLORA HE FINALLY HAD A REALLY LARGE STINKY POOP. I WAS SO WORRIED AFTER 3 DAYS HE WOULD NOT GO. BUT HE DID AND WOW. HOW MUCH OF THIS ULTIMATE 15 BILLION. 10 STRAIN CAPSULE SHOULD I GIVE jack

This seems about right, but I believe you start at a low dose, and consult with your vet. I give Ritz about .5 teaspoon a day, but I am not treating a sick cat, as you may be. Good luck.

hi thank u for replying. is that a 1/5th of teasp or 1/2 teasp?i am breaking the capsule in half and only giving half daily. am pm. the other half next day. so nervous about this.

ps vet is against anything that he doesnot sell

The directions on my container say 1/4 rounded teaspoon at every meal; there is a 1/4 teaspoon included. I only give it once to Ritz; she likes the taste.
You can buy really tiny measuring spoons.

thank u i am buying human probiotics ultimate flora capsules. he ate good yesterday. has normal nice poops two days now even this morning but today he just takes a lick and walks away its since 12 midnite he ate. its 4pm now. just sleeping. i am so worried blood test good. urine good. just xray showed slightly thick wall and bunched up looking. but he also let go of green diarreah during xray. was asleep. vet thinks its something he ate. but thats been over 2 weeks. some improvement after he put him on albon 7 days. maybe he needs more time to chill out.
