So, I've started playing with the idea of introducing a third feline family member to my home, but am in no rush. This has given me time to think about some things, like whether I should look into getting a shelter kitten, or a purebred cat - something I have never done, but admittedly find rather exciting. I happened to stumble across the bobtail breeds, and, seeing as one of my current cats had to have the first couple of inches of his tail amputated, maybe it would be fun to have a cat with a bobbed tail, too.

Has anyone had an experience with the Mekong (Thai) Bobtail? They are gorgeous - they look similar to Siamese but with a bobbed tail. There doesn't seem to be much information about them on this side of the pond (US).

Just curious if anyone out there may have any further details or experience with the temperament and health of the Mekong Bobtail, or thoughts/opinions they'd like to share about other bobtail breeds.
