Can someone help please?? My cat, whose like 3 years old, is acting unusual. He is less active than usual and just sleeps. He vomits up his food, so far he vomited 6 times today. He won't eat his food, but will drink his water. The dry food we give him is his usual one, which he didn't have a problem before. I remember him playing with a tiny rubber band before but I dont know if he ate it. I just don't want to take him to the vet unless it's really necessary because the vet isn't cheap. By the way he vomited his food along with some yellowish liquid. Also he likes to go outdoors sometimes but hasn't gone in a while. He also is a cat that meows a lot but now he's really quite. Hope someone can help and return him back to the way he was a happy active cat.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Unfortunately those are the symptoms of a blockage, and the only solution is a vet visit and x-ray to see if he needs surgery or not. I highly urge you to take him as soon as possible. I'd be at the emergency vet.

While it is possible, if it was something that could pass or be regurgitated, chances are he would have expelled it already. Vomiting this much and being unable to keep down food is a big issue. Vets are definitely not cheap, but the faster a vet can address this, the less damage it will do and the less you may end up paying for treatment or recovery. Best to act quickly before your cat gets even sicker. I would say it is absolutely necessary.

If there is something twined around his intestines it could kill him, and it would be a painful way to die. Please bring him to a vet!

Turns out it was just a hairball!! Hairball and blockage symptoms are pretty much the same

Oh before I took him to the vet I went to the pet store to see if his symptoms matched anything. Well they matched the one on medicine to get rid of hair balls. After giving him the medicine the next day he stopped throwing up and went back to his normal self
