Alright so I'm really looking for some help here. A little background on my cat. My fiancé and I adopted him and his brother from a rescue about 6 months back, we named him Sabbath, he is almost 2 years old. Sabbath, poor boy, was abused by a previous owner and has let me pet him twice in the 6 months we've had him. Needless to say, taking him to the vet is pretty much out of the question right now as he is terrified of people.
Sabbath's pee recently took on a brownish tinge. At first I read that this was common if the pee was concentrated, as in him holding his pee till the last minute. But in the last two days it's started smelling like ammonia. My fiancé and I have provided multiple bowls of water for him to drink from (recently invested in two of the ones that have a purifier and has constantly running water but have yet to see an improvement) He has a steady diet of both dry and wet food and both are good brands that we researched. So I have no idea why his pee looks like he’s unhealthy.
Does anyone know of anything else besides taking him to the vet and giving him antibiotic’s that could help clear this up? Anything would help.
Thanks!
