The Theory of Everything

We watched this movie on Comcast On Demand before the Academy awards. The movie was just amazing and had both of us crying (yes, Paul cries at movies too!). We don't go to movies and very occasionally get one On Demand but his was well worth it. It was done so beautifully and I'm so happy that he won best actor award. I wonder how Steven Hawking felt watching the movie and his portrayal.

My son and I are both big Hawking fans; the man is just brilliant. 

Pam, have you seen the movie yet? Even if you're not a big movie watcher (like us) this is definitely worth seeing. Eddie Redmayne did such an amazing job and looked exactly like Steven Hawking. I can only imagine the research he had to do in order to portray this correctly.

I have often wondered how he has survived so long with Lou Gehrig's.  Everything I have found about him and the disease is that no one really knows.  Most people only live 2 to 5 years after diagnoses and he has lived over 40 years now after diagnoses.  For someone like myself with some type of religious belief I think he is still here because he still has so much to offer. 

We have not seen it yet. But we will.

Hi Pam, I already have it in my 'cart' and will watch it also. 

A lady I know from the Temple where I used to work has a husband with ALS. He was also diagnosed years ago and given only a short time to live but he is still here and also communicates thru his computer. He was dentist before he was diagnosed. Hope someday they'll find a cure for this disease. This man has 2 children, and when I was working at Temple Shalom his daughter celebrated her Bat Mitzvah. There wasn't a dry eye in the temple when her father was wheeled in to celebrate this occasion.
