Small bump on my cat's skin

Hi! I'm new to the forum. I'm hoping someone has experience with this.

I am the proud owner of two cats (both 6 years old).

My cat Max, an adorable, mild tempered, black cat, has this small bump on his side-on the surface of his skin. It's perfectly round, no bigger than the circumference of a pencil eraser, and the same color as his skin. Almost wart or mole - like.

It doesn't seem to bother him, but I did find it while petting him last night.

I will bring him to the vet if I need to, he just gets traumatized very easily. I just thought maybe someone may have had a cat with a similar issue?

Oh my gosh! I just posted about what sounds like the exact same thing! My post is just below yours and I've posted a picture.  Does your cats bump look like mine?

It's the exact same size as your cats' bump, only white/skin colored and a bit more of a dome. Does your cat seem to be bothered by the bump??

White, skin colored, is usually benign, or harmless. A fatty tumor or a growth like we all get when we get older.  Red or bleeding is more worrisome, but still may be harmless, only a vet would know. My cat has several small flesh colored bumps, but he is almost 14 and it is to be expected.  Try to take a picture and bring it in to your vet, they would know, or call them and describe it, that may be enough. Either way it needs to be looked at by a professional so it will ease your mind. Good luck!

I had hoped to hear something along those lines-he seems uninterested in the bump, if not a little annoyed that I am messing with his fur when I look at it
