I went away for the weekend and when I came back I found some cat vomit on the floor. She seemed fine so I've been keeping an eye on her but she threw up again this morning, and now it is tinged pink.  She recently started eating wet food but has been eating that for about 3 weeks now with no problems.  Her energy level is fine and she's still interested in eating (even though I took her food away from her) and drinking.  We also recently moved and the pipes in the apartment above us burst so I'm afraid that stress is causing her to throw up.  She did not drink any of the liquid from the burst pipes because I locked her out of the one room that was affected.  Thanks for any advice or suggestions as to what it might be!

Is she vomiting food, or is it bile (liquid) or frothy?  A pink tinge, unless its connected to food coloring (red/pink food?) makes me concerned there is blood in the vomit which would be very concerning.  Given that she is continuing to vomit and the pink tinge is worrisome.

What was she eating while you were gone?

I suggest you consult a vet.  If you can wipe up the vomit with a paper towel and show that to a vet might be helpful.

Agreed that the pink is worrisome.

I'd try an anti-emetic until you can get to a vet. I've had success with liquid imodium. Dosage is about 1ml per 5lbs of weight, up to 4x daily. I put chicken broth in a second syringe, and use it as a "chaser" after I dose the medicine. But I'd also give some coconut oil to keep kitty from getting constipated from imodium. Coconut oil will help lubricate a sore throat too, plus it has antiseptic properties.

If you're lucky, and your cats LOVES a certain kind of food, you could put a little ground-up dramamine in there. But it's EXTREMELY bitter, and I've only ever had one cat who would take it that way. Dosage is 12.5mg, up to 3x daily.

Good luck!

No disrespect to Tnhand1022's opinion above, but we're not supposed to give specific medical instructions on the site and until there is a diagnosis and/or reassurance from a veterinary professional, I would caution you against self medicating with any human medications without specific instructions from a vet.

Thanks StephenQ, great reminder. Just sharing what worked for me. But I'm certainly not licensed to treat an animal!

If my cat had pink vomit, I would definitely take her to a vet, just as if she had pink tinged stool. Traces of blood in the digestive system needs a check. And I would not try any home remedies for this in case there is something going on.
