Last year because the neighborhood we live in has a flea problem, we got a flea problem with our indoor cats. I'm preparing now to deal with that issue and be as proactive as possible.

I got a flea spray to spray liberally around the house and on the porch where the cats don't have access to.

I was able to get 8 viles of Revolution from my vet, and I have 8 viles of Advantage II. I know Revolution is superior to Advantage II but that was as much as I could get from my vet as she has not seen all my cats. I could try to get more if you think alternating will seriously impact my ability to keep this problem under control.

I have 3 cats. The 16 viles will protect them for 5 months. I am sure I'll need more. Last year I believe the problem starting in April and subsided In November. That's 8 months. So I'll work on that later in the summer. Maybe I could get more Revolution somehow in that time.

Anyway, I want to be PROACTIVE. Will do a lot of vacuuming, a lot of laundering. Is there anything else I can do? One of my cats actually chewed off his hair near his tail because it was so bad. I tried so much last year. Bathed them in Dawn, got the pill that killed the fleas for 24 hours. But I made the mistake of using Frontline which I have since read has lost much of it's efficacy in the last several years.

Any other suggestions? Also, with the Revolution and Advantage II, should I alternate by month? Should I put Advantage II on one cat, Revolution on another, and a mix on the third? Should I have them all on the same brand at the same time? Or have one on Advantage II while 2 are on Revolution? I read changing it up can be good so the fleas don't "figure their way" around one of the treatments.

I just don't want it out of control as last year.  We can't logically flea bomb because we have 9 rats and 3 cats and moving them would be logistically impossible.

Thanks.
