Hello...

I am currently feeding my 1 yr old cats B and L fancy feast (i know gross) 1 little can each per morning and night. They will ONLY eat the gravy variety, if it is the pate they will not touch it.

When i first got them as 4 week old babes, I started them on spots stew, but only B would eat it then eventually she went off of it.

I moved her to Simply Nourish cat food (the small can variety that looks like human food)  she loved it! At first she ate all the flavors but then she decided she only like the tuna and potato flavor. The petstore never had enough of this flavor to last more than 2 weeks and they were always going out of stock. Plus the store is very far away and I don't have a car. (and I can't buy it online its is a ridiculous price) so i had to find a new food.

L would sometimes have a taste of the wet food, but mainly just ate biscuits

I tried them on Raw dehydrated... they wouldn't touch it! I threw the whole box away :(

So now they eat fancy feast L and B both love it very much..... I'm not happy at all with the ingredients in the food though!

I am happy with the price and how convenient it is to buy it but i would like to find a food that is a gravy type food with better ingredients ! No corn or meat by products !!!

I live in Williamsburg NYC so there is a fair amount of stores around.

IF any one has any suggestions that would be awesome!

Thanks

First I need to ask a stupid question .  Are L & B your cats actual names ?  Just curious ..

As for the cat food question I am in the same position . My cats will only eat Fancy Feast  but it started making them have stinky poo and my female vomit so at the moment they are only eating kibble , Natures Variety Instinct Grain Free .. I am still trying to find a wet food however but not having much luck ..

Since your cats  like gravy type foods you could try something like Weruva   . Also at Petco they have a brand called Soulistic that is good .. There are many others so I am sure you will get lots of suggestions .

Hey thanks for the reply.

Ha no its not their names. Its Lola and Bandit. But tired to make it as short a question as possible :p

Anyway, I think i feed my cats the same kibble too except not the grain free variety. Buti should probably do that. They don't eat it a lot so i figured i don't mind them having some grain.. ? They're super skinny so if they start getting fat i could switch them i guess.

Thank you for the suggestions of cat food! I will give them a go and hopefully they like it :p

Cool , I was  just curious . I actually like  L & B but Lola & Bandit are cute too ..

For the  NV kibble , it is a lot cheaper to buy on Chewy.Com  . Check out the prices ..

Good luck with the wet food , I hope you can find something they like .

My cats are a work in progress ..

Nutro natural choice sliced and minced are like gravy. Red barn tricky chicky is stew like. Weruva, cats in the kitchen, soulistic and fussie cat are not pate either. Gravy in fancy feast is gluten and should be avoided.

If the cats don't have an issue with gluten, I don't think it needs to be completely avoided. :)

My cat is loving some of the Wild Calling flavors right now:

Unfortunately, it's not cheap. :cringe:

I'll second @bonepicker's suggestion of the Nutro minced and sliced foods: our cats really lap those up and they also tend to reject pates. They also love the real meat shreds from Weruva's Cats in the Kitchen line and all the meat foods from Tiki Cat. Tiki's definitely more expensive but it's very good food and even our pickier eater will eat it all, which counts for a lot around here. Tiki's "luau" foods are pretty much all shreds with a little consomme, though the Gourmet Carnivore foods are a little juicier.

Even if the boxed dehydrated raw food didn't go over well (was that Honest Kitchen?), I suspect the freeze-dried foods from Primal and Stella & Chewy's are different enough that they could appeal to your cats if you still want to try them on some form of raw food. Ours tend to like Primal and S&C in larger pieces: you can break those foods into whatever size you want. I think Primal sends out samples; Stella & Chewy's doesn't but that food's sold in large and small bags, so you could try small first. The only problem with Stella & Chewy's is that there have been severe supply issues lately.

Good luck! Our cats also get picky and it can be difficult!
