Hi all! This is my first post here. I have three cats, 10 year old male (Slippers), 1 year old female (Erza), and 1 year old male (Tamaki). I have been feeding all three cats Fromm game bird dry food and a mix of all different wet foods (evangers, friskys, blue buffalo, and several others). Slippers and Erza have been doing great on this but Tamaki has developed some problems. I think it may be an allergy. He has a little dirt in his ears, some soars around his ears, slight runny eyes and nose, and what appears to be a few small hot spots around tail. I have looked for fleas and see no evidenced of fleas. I am cutting out chicken to see if this helps. I have tried 2 diffrent fish protein foods and he doesn't seem to be a fan of fish. I Am going to try beef next.
One question I have is almost all of the dry foods I've found have eggs in them. Since I am cutting out chicken do I need to cut out eggs too?
Also, would it be best to cut out all fowl?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks

I should also add that his stools are good and firm. He is also VERY energetic and that has not changed. The only thing that has changed in personality is he has been a little more restless and agitated acting (play attacking the other cats has become slightly more aggressive).

Have you taken the cat to a vet to rule out any possible medical condition? If not, do that first. Runny eyes and nose may indicate a respiratory infection, "dirty" looking ears may be normal for your cat or it may be ear mites especially if the cat is scratching at the ears all the time.

You can try a limited ingredient diet. Here's one that comes in both dry and canned: http://www.instinctpetfood.com/instinct-limited-ingredient-food-dogs-and-cats

Here's are others, some in both dry and canned forumals:

There are also prescription diets for cats with food allergies.

Some cats who are allergic to chicken can tolerate eggs but others cannot. You'll have to eliminate ingredients one by one to see what your cat can tolerate.
