Is there a way to get cats to sleep in the same bed?

Its a silly question, but i see so many wonderful pictures here of kitties being so loving towards each other. My cats do like and trust each other enough to play together and chase each other. But theyve only known each other a couple of month.

I would love to see them cuddling together.

My cats will whap at each other, chase, and eat together, and sleep next to each other, but they never sleep cuddled up. This is the closest they've gotten to cuddling (actually sometimes they'll touch paws if they both stretch out towards each other), and it shows how the cats feel about each other:

They will, however, share a bed with us. I sleep against the wall, Kismet sleeps between my boyfriend and I up by my stomach, Mo sleeps on the other side of my boyfriend at his feet.

It's really up to the cats. Kismet is often more interested in people than Mo, and since he tends to play rough, she doesn't play back. They've lived together for almost a year now and Mo has been crazy about her since the day we walked in the door with her.

Is it just something that some cats do, but not all?
Some cats will cuddle, others will not. You can't make cats sleep and cuddle with each other. My two cats have been together for 4 years and will not sleep near each other. They get along just fine, though.

Our two Bengals, Makena and Lilia, don't sleep together. Both are rescues and I suspect Lilia's past history is the problem. Makena is a large male who was aggressive, he took a long time to settle in but he is a sweetheart now. Lilia was kept in a cage and was poorly socialized. Makena would LOVE to curl up with Lilia, but she is just too afraid. They play together, eat together, share window sills, but Lilia just won't let Makena curl up with her. I suspect Lilia just has trouble trusting Makena. It does not help that he is easily 1/2 again larger than her and many times stronger (but yet he is careful not to be too rough when they play together.)

Heh, well, my cats are litter mates and they don't cuddle!  I also know of another set of litter mates who don't cuddle.  In each case:  two female litter mates.

On the other hand, I have a friend who brought home a new cat.  Hit it off almost immediately with her old cat and they cuddle all the time.   Guess what? Two males!

Add in a few more instances I've seen documented here and there and my working theory is cuddling is more likely if one or more of the cats are male.  LOL

I shouldn't say my two actually don't ever cuddle.  You can see them in my avatar there from a week or so ago pretty much cuddling.  We've caught them a handful of times over the year plus that they've been here, not counting the first few days when they were scared.  But they mostly do not cuddle with each other.  They do like to get into a human lap though, and share the bed with us.

I think it really depends on the cat. With one cat (Twiddledee) I fostered, he was more of a foot person. Ritz (female) , my resident cat always sleeps in between my legs (small bed), so when Tdee tried to get in between my legs I moved him to my feet and Ritz (female) took her place of honor.
I just moved Hercules, a very friendly cat from my community cat colony, to my 2nd bedroom, with hopes of adopting him, depending on Ritz. I suspect he will be a lap person, and I'll have to train Hercules to sit/sleep by my side instead.

It's up to the cats comfort level! For a while my youngest cat would try to snuggle with the other. She would try to groom him too, but then he would get overstimulated and want to play roughly. She then would get intimidated and turn away.

Our two are good friends, but so rarely cuddle.  They will sleep near each other, nearly touching at times but not all wrapped up into each other.

Our bed is mostly Casper's domain.  He comes to bed with us almost every night and sleeps against me (usually) or at the foot of the bed between us.  Sometimes, Cocoa will come and join but rarely although, during the daytime our bed is fair game for napping for both cats.  Something about bedtime is different, as if he's claimed the right for the private time with us.  Which is fine.  She actually prefers her spot, in a nice comfy pet bed on top of the dining room radiator.  It's warm, and has a huge window.  Casper won't go up there, he knows it belongs to her, the same way I guess, our bed is his main territory for sleeping.

I think it comes a lot down to the cats' temperament. some just like their space. My Sassy liked to sleep alone....only I could come near her sleeping place. But Matt will cuddle any cat who joins him in his comfy places. Midnight practically lays on Matt, and Matt welcomes the attention. Granted there are times that he huffs and walks off to be alone, but mostly his friendliness wins out. Helen prefers her space too, but also enjoys mutual grooming..so she'll groom and cuddle later.
