Since Mr. T has cleared up the yeast infection in his ears, he has been eating like a normal cat. Before, I had posted that due to his mouth/teeth/tongue issues I had to blend his food into soup. Every once in awhile, he would eat some cooked food. And he had a poor appetite. We were giving him steroid shots which we have stopped. But since the vet gave him antibiotics for his yeast infection and we used the ear wash in the morning and drops in the evening for 10+ days, he's actually eating cat food. I add a couple of tablespoons of water to moisten it up more, but he's not leaving grit on the plate.  I had started by tilting his plate or feeding him off a spoon since I could tilt it, so when he licked the food, it fell back into his mouth from being on the angle, but past few times, he's done well with the plat flat.

So could all this time that we thought he was extremely finicky, had the allergy to his teeth, very few teeth, and a smoother than normal tongue, it was all related to the yeast? We originally thought it was ear mites, which is why we brought him to the vet who swabbed his ears and tested it. He was scratching his ears terribly, even tapping me gently in the night to place my fingers deep into his ears to massage them.  Now he's fine.

I am one very happy mother to see him eating. We aren't stressed out watching him pace and not eating. I'm jumping for joy!

It's possible that the pain in the ear caused it to be painful to chew.

I agree, the two could be related. When I get a tooth ache that lasts more than a few days, I always get an earache to go with it. Makes me super cranky, too. It's possible this could happen in kitties, too.
