Hello. Unfortunately, my 15 year old cat was diagnosed with advanced cancer. There is nothing that can be done for except keep her comfy. She has a tumor in her throat that causes her to drool, especially when she sleeps. Her little paws & legs gets covered in this sticky & stinky drool. I try to freshen her up with a warm wash cloth but that doesn't help much. I actually tried washing just her feet in the sink. This was extremely distressing to her & I don't want to upset her since she's sick. I've tried the waterless pet cleansers & they just make the smell worse. Have any of you ever had this issue or have any ideas on what I can do to make her smell better? I feel like she's upset about her sticky paws too. I would appreciate any suggestions- THANK YOU

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. My sweet Shizu had jaw cancer, so she also drooled pretty profusely. We set up blankets in all the spots she liked to nap in to help it stay off the furniture/floor. For her body, I used pet wipes you can get at the pet store. Seems like petsmart has hypoallergenic ones, antibacterial ones & lots to choose. I would try to gently rub a very wet paper towel on that area first to loosen the crusty fur, then I'd go over it with a pet wipe. It got too hard for her to clean herself, so I did it for her.

Hi misskittycity misskittycity :wavey:

So sorry to hear about your girl :vibes: :vibes:

You can get waterless pet shampoos, it's like a foam that you rub into their fur and then just wipe off.

I'm sorry about your little one. No clue if this will work but I'm wondering if you could fashion some sort of legging or paw cover that is waterproof on one side and soft on the other. Relatively inexpensive and washable. Velcro or snaps on top (i.e. not under the foot pads).  Just a thought.

You can try adding something like Slurp'n'Fresh to her water. It works pretty quickly to help with bad breath and has no flavour.
