Sorry this response is going to be short, but I'm running short on time at the moment.  Are you familiar with this site:  http://www.felinecrf.org/index.htm

It is my "go to" for most things kidney disease related, as I also have a kidney cat.  That site has pages on kidney related issues such as anemia, what foods are best, but of course, the best foods are ones they will eat.  Most cats don't really like the kidney specific foods, but they have a food chart for both wet and dry foods that are in order of phosphorus so you can just start with the lowest amount and try to find something good for them that they might like.  My Vet says just feed her anything she will eat, so that's what we do, since she is now half of her normal weight

Did your Vet not recommend anything for the anemia?  There are definitely things that can be given.

Your boys are gorgeous, BTW.

he gave me HI VITE DROPS, vitamin drops and AZODYL supplement that can help kidney function and they eat hills prescription dry for kidney disease, but yes the vet says it's more important they eat  and don't worry so much about getting them to eat only kidney diet foods. thank you for the info

I also have 2 kidney cats on subq's. I recently started giving both of them B12 injections weekly and it has really helped with their appetites and overall energy level. Neither of them are anemic yet but I've read that B12 can be helpful for that also. Maybe you should ask your vet about trying it. Also my cats hated all the kidney diets but recently hills came out with 2 new wet foods that they really like, k/d chicken and veggie stew and k/d tuna and veggie stew.
