Goodbye My Buddy I will miss you Thomas

My Sweet Boy Thomas passed away suddenly last night

I came home from work and found him lying on my bed to which i patted him for several minutes then went down to watch TV, several minutes later i heard him come downstairs, shortly later i heard a small thud and went to see what he was getting into, There i found him dead on the kitchen floor, not even a chance to do anything about it

He wasnt sick or ill and showed no signs of anything abnormal

He was a rescue kitty that we found sleeping under our house 2 years ago, he was very young then. after about a week he finally warmed up to us and came in to live with us, he was a beautiful red cat and we named Him Thomas O'Maley

We was always playfull, if someone had a mean cat or unrully cat, thomas would nice them to death until they became best buddies. he would always play with a closed paw as not to hurt anyone. he loved Bags and boxes of any size or shape he would squeeze himself into it whether he fit or not


here he is in his bed, just after he arrived i bought him this bed, he loved it and slept in it every night.

Now he sleeps in it Forever. i hope you were happy Thomas we did everything to make you happy

I am so sorry for your loss of Thomas.  We here on this site share the heartache of losing our loved ones.  Thomas sounds like a very sweet kitty!  I love the picture of him getting into the tupperware & so content on his special bed.  I can't think of what could have happened, but with all cats you never know what is lurking inside them.  You saved him from a life of trying to live on the street with no one to care or watch out for him.  He had a warm house, food & someone who loved him.   He knew & appreciated the good life that you had given him. The next weeks will be hard.  I lost my Rizzo 31 days ago & I still have all of his things around the house as if I expect him to appear at any moment.  I am so sorry you did not get to say goodbye but now he is free of all of life's problems & having a great time on the other side.  I would sit down & tell him all the things you would have said if you knew he was leaving.  He will visit you even though you can't see him and wait until you can be reunited.

  What a beautiful tribute for Thomas O'Malley - an excellent choice in names. Thank you for the pictures to go along with your lovely and moving tribute. I am glad that your dear boy went quickly, "with his boots on" as we like to say around here. I totally understand the shock of the sudden loss (my father went suddenly, in the yard, with his dogs and cats by his side - it was so hard to realize he wasn't just sleeping as he had just passed his physical and stress tests with flying colors earlier that day).

Riley1 shows true wisdom in pointing out that Thomas left this realm knowing what it was to be part of a family, to have a name, a good home with toys and pats, etc.  Bless your family for giving him those wonderful comforts and joys   Someday your memories of Thomas will bring smiles instead of tears, and you will have a dear friend waiting to greet you when it is your turn to cross The Bridge.

I'm so happy you two found each other, you shared a love that will be forever kept in your heart. When they leave us, especially when they are so young, I know that the pain in the beginning is so heavy on our souls, it crushes the spirit and only time helps to soften the edges. You are left behind to continue that sweet boy's legacy, a legacy of love and devotion. I pray in time you will be able to smile again when you think of him, instead of the tears you are experiencing now. It is as he would want for someone he loved so much.  Please accept my condolences, and thank you so much for sharing his story, I hope we can be a comfort for you by by sharing and acknowledging your sorrow. Your best Friend came by yesterday to say good bye, he sat on the fence crying for several minutes before he left

And willow Will never be the same without you, we love you Tom

Aw, kitties grieve as well!  I bet there are boxes, green grass, sunshine, mice/birds to chase (probably not to kill) & every thing else I kitty could want.  Not now, but some day you will enjoy all the happy times you spent with him & know he is still with you.

Thank you for your kind comments.  This hurts so bad I can't believe it.  But, just putting 1 foot in front of the other..! will miss him all the days of my life, but hope to see him at The Rainbrow Bridge...

oh my goodness..how devastating...I guess the only comfort from this is he didn't suffer. I am so so sorry for your loss and am so thankful to you for loving him and giving him the bestest life possible, no matter how short that sweet life was.

Thomas must have been a very special cat, and it's heartbreaking that he had so little time in your loving home. RIP, Thomas.
