Both parents and my oldest sister died within a few years of each other. It was a very hard time in my life but I know that they are watching over me and my family.

My best memories outside of my daughters is when my dad died
.  Yes we were all sad but Daddy never understood why people would cry and be upset when someone passed away. He would say that they are better off than we were because they don't feel any of the pain we do anymore.

I am the youngest of 7 siblings and after my dad's funeral, we all went back to my Mother's house and shared good times and memories of the family and my dad. We laughed and celebrated his life instead of mourning his death. It really brought my family together during this sad time.

My mom kept saying that daddy is having a blast in Heaven because we were celebrating him. I still miss him everyday.

Both of my parents died many years ago.  My mom, from breast cancer.  Dad, from a sudden heart attack, after beating lung cancer (he hadn't smoked in like 30-40 years!).  I was in my late 30's.  I'm nearly 56, so too long.

My maternal grandmother, died after both of them, at the age of 102.  But this is also many years ago at this point.  The other 3 grandparents died when I was very young.

I lost all my dearest relatives when I was already well into my adulthood so, I have a more realistic approach to their passings. I don't do anything very special to remember them because they are always there with me in some way.  However, I do light "yahrzeit" memorial candles for them at certain times of the year - it's a Jewish thing
