Hi, my names Ken, I stumbled onto this site while 2nd guessing my decision to put my beloved 6 year old Oliver down after being diagnosed with Lymphoma. He had a 7cm tumor in his GI track, another between his heart and lung.
He was my favorite, a real character, my constant companion.
I based my decision largely on watching my neighbor keep her dog with cancer alive for a year, which only prolonged it's suffering.
I did not want Oliver to just be kept alive , he has always been VERY active.
Another factor was that I could not love my Oliver ANY more.
Whenever I held him I could feel the love, pouring out of me.
Anyway, I found that this site has a wealth of information.
I still have three indoor cats, Sammie( very smart), Monte(simple but with a heart of gold) and Little Girl ( a bit defiant). All were rescues with the exception of Sammie who came from the local Mom and Pops pet store(where kittens were frequently dropped off).
I also have a TNR'd feral outside.
I've TNR'd about 10 cats. Managed to find homes for a few of them.
