Greetings,

I have a problem, I do not know if I am overreacting or not about this, but I do admit that I am slightly afraid for my cats health. She is 3 years old, active as every 3 year old cat should be, but something is different about her eyes, this did not happen before and it does not change back to normal. The photos are below

I believe everyone means what I mean by saying weird eyes. If not, look at both of her eyes, the thing going from the nose side of the eyes. I have seen this before when she woke up or something and that is why I waited a few days before asking more questions, but these don't seem to go away and I don't know what seems to be the issue, my bold guess is some kind of eye infection and if it is indeed so, how can I help her.

I apologise for my poor english and weird describtions, this is my first cat post and I simply don't know the words.

I thank you for all your help.

Best regards,

orsos

Hi Orsos,

Welcome to TCS, What you are seeing is her third eyelid. All cats have this, if it is visible when her eyes are open it means that your cat is sick. It could be something quite simple such as a cold, nothing to worry about but you should get her checked over by a vet.

If a cat's third eyelid is protruding like this it's an indicator that she is having health problems. It's something to look out for in future, kind of an early warning system in regards to your cats health.

Let us know how you get on at the vet.

I am seeing that her pupils are not the same size too.  Unless that is just the picture and not actually happening, I would say she needs to see a Vet sooner than later.
