I hope everyone had a good weekend!  (Even if you were working!)  We got a lot done around our house and enjoyed the wood stove.

What Smiley or Smilieys from our toolbar fit your mood or state of being right now?

Mine is this:

I've got some running around to do before that 4 letter word hits our area. S.N.O.W.   To that I say:
I don't need summer; I just don't need freezing precipitation.  I live in the wrong place I guess.

This winter has been a lot better than last winter but we are starting another really cold spell.  Yesterday was really cold but the sun was out , not a cloud in the sky, today it is cloudy again.  I am still grateful after last winter.  I have mentioned last winter to people when they complain about one of the colder spells we have had this winter and they don't remember last winter.  Last winter is still etched in my memory.  We haven't had very much snow though like the people to the east of us.

is mine right now, there is a dog that can open the gates into our yard and gets all that nice food I set out for my strays. We thought we had him locked in last week and was on the phone to animal control and then we watched as he lifted the latch and escaped! I'm going to try to follow him home and tell his owners they better keep him home before he gets hit by a car or sent to jail by us!

 Today, right now.

            Earlier, shoveling snow.

Looking up from shoveling to see Speedy watching me through window!

The first one because Lilith and Sophie are sill being stubborn little brats when it comes to food. Nothing makes them happy. They eat a little then reject it. So I try something else. They will happily eat people food though like low sodium turkey breast. The raw thing isn't going so well, either.

The second one is because I have been letting them spend more time with Henry and that's going fine. No aggression on anyone's part although I did catch Lilith chasing Henry out of the tree in his room. She knew I saw her do it and instantly laid on the charm like she didn't do anything. She treats Sophie the same way sometimes. Fortunately, Henry is very laid back like Sophie is. They let miss priss get away with anything. All 5 pounds of her. The dog spent some time with him on Saturday (supervised) and she was loving all over him. He handled it like a champ. Invasive sniffing, sloppy kisses and all.

We topped out at 11 F after starting out at -7 today. I can't get warm and my hands are like ice cubes.

one trick to warming hands up is to put them in warm body crevices -- like arm pits, or sometimes at night/in bed i'll slip a hand under the collar of my top and keep it in the spot between my neck and my shoulder.

and when i'm really cold during the winter evenings, many times i'll have a bowl of hot oatmeal before bedtime. this warms me well.

I really need to get off my butt and go and do yoga but the voices keep telling me "Go on, just one more cup of coffee and a few more minutes on TCS won't hurt."

I put my hands under Mollipop when we're in bed.
She doesn't mind and she's like a little furnace. (Although Mollipop doesn't really seem to mind the cold like the other cats do, even she has been wanting under the bedcovers during the last week or so!)
