My daughter's cat was in heat about a month ago. We are pretty sure my male got to her. We tried to keep them apart but that's not easy with two adolescent cats. They are both between 9 months and a year old. My boy is now fixed.
Anyway, the female started having a milky discharge last week and was constantly growling. She is abnormally loving (not her normal personality). It stopped after a day or two and this weekend I noticed the discharge again and it had a pinkish hue to it. I am going to call her vet today and see about bringing her in but I wanted some advice before I can get her to the vet. It may be a day or two because of the bad weather coming in the area.
I have some amoxicillin at the house that I give to one of my other boys when his URI starts. Should I go ahead and start her on this or wait for the vet check? My daughter rescued this cat at 4 weeks and nursed her back to health, I need all the advice I can get.
It is not a constant discharge but is noticeable. She always starts growling during this as she is cleaning herself. I'm not sure if she has and infection or if she is pregnant and there is a problem. I've never had this issue before. TIA for any advice.
