Ok I talked about getting this same kitten to eat hard food on another thread (I have since given up on doing it) now my problem is she is picky about her wet food now! I have tried a "cheap" but well known/liked brand here in the UK called Felix  we got her the kitten one and she ate that for a bit then decided she did not like it we have tried most of the kitten brand wet foods and out of desperation we have started trying the "adult" I'm assuming it's adult as it's not labelled kitten. she seems to love the applaws can chicken and most of the sheba pouch food I have tried on her in the last few days but I'm worried about

1. can I feed her "adult" (it seems to be the only one she really likes)

2.Will this cause a nutrition issue with her.

3.If 1 & 2 are problems how can I get her to eat the kitten brands?

I have also tried only feeding her the kitten brand only a little at a time and she refused to eat for 2 days when I did that. people say animals are not picky I say they are wrong animals are like people if they don't like it they won't eat it. or maybe that's my view with the picky little eater I have now.

I only know the brand Felix because some guy ate some once for an internet stunt and said it tasted like burnt rubber. So my takeaway is - don't buy Felix!

She can absolutely eat adult food. Kitten food is generally better for growth because it is more nutritionally dense, but adult food is much better than no food at all. Have you tried mixing/mashing a bit of kitten food with a lot of adult food, and slowly increasing the amount of kitten food so she gets used to the taste?

never heard of someone doing that. but you have to remember what taste bad to one person may taste good to another but with that said eww who would even eat cat food (wait then again I did eat bacon flavored dogs biscuits and those were pretty good lol). But we can't honestly judge a food we have not tried let along judge it on what some guy did for a stunt (which y would you do it eww). But yes I have tried to mixed a little of adult and kitten and she will take 2 bites if I'm lucky then leave it for fat boy sheamus to eat (he's not picky in fact I think he is part pig or something lol). I did notice tho when I tried her on royal canine wet pouch kitten food she hard hard stool and it would take her 2 tries to get it out just took her off of it after like today after 4 days (called a vet that was recommended to me by a friend and I asked how to change a cat over from one wet food to another and was told just to give the new stuff straight) but I have never had problems with any other food doing that to her.

You can feed a kitten adult wet food but it will not have the correct neutritional balance, esp for calcium and bone development.  General growth and need for calories differs so it is always best to try and get a kitten to eat appropriate stage food if you can - even if mixing some with the food they prefer.

What are the do's and don't of feeding raw meat? I'm asking because I'm just use to giving raw meat straight from the pack to my animals. I mean I just feed my kitties some ground beef and they loved it (the female "banshee" loved it so much after she was done with her little bit when after him "sheamus" to see if he had any left which he did and she ate it like a greedy little piggy while growling in between mouthfuls at him that it was hers now lol)

I know when my kitten woulsnt eat I would mix a bit of nutri cal in his wey food and he would eat it up. That way they eat the food and get all the nutrients.

Generally if you are feeding commerical pet food then raw meat and organs should not make up more than 10% of the diet. Ground meats from the supermarket are not ideal to feed because they have bacteria mixed throughout. The bacteria is killed when the meat is cooked but in uncooked meat they can pose a risk to pets. It's better to buy whole cuts of meat like boneless chicken breast and cut that into small pieces yourself.

If you want to switch to a raw diet, please post on the Raw and Home Cooked Diet forum for more info.

Well I only gave her a little ground beef not much but from the last post I had bought another 3-4 brand both kitten and adult an she had a vet check which I was told even tho I'm feeding her 7 small meals a day (she is prob eating half that) she still has lost a little weight an I explained to the vet that I have bought a ton of different brands of both kitten and adult and she will take 2 bites and if she don't like it she wont eat it and walk away. Vet asked if she eats hard food I told her no I can't get her to even try a small hard food cat treat let alone hard dry food. So other then the weight problem my cat is fine the only other thing besides be the pickest cat she has ever seen she could have some little bug hiding out that the first wormer she was given did not treat. So now after 3 round of panacur susapansion 2.5% hopefully she will be fine. I was told to bring her in asap after the treatment preferably after Monday they said but because I rely on my husband or other friends and family I can't get there until Friday if I'm lucky! but atm she has eaten so much she looks pregnant and she keeps coming back for more it looks like she like what I'm feeding her now which it being switched between pouches of purely holistic kitten food and wainwright kitten food. I hope she does not lose anymore weight I don't think my heart could take it after my recent miscarriage :(
