Hissy....help!

I was putting Advantage on the Sammycat and somehow he licked it and got the just put on product in his mouth Will he be okay? I have a page in to the Vet just waiting for his call back Any advice for this??

First of all BREATHE! Second, I'm pretty sure he'll be ok. I asked my Vet about it since my cats bathe each other & he said that it won't hurt them. He said it tastes awful & they may try to get it off of their tongue.

It's good that you called the Vet just in case. Maybe you should try to encourage him to drink? I know it's easier said than done!

Your cat may drool and not want to eat for a bit, as the stuff tastes awful and it kills an appetite for a few minutes, but I doubt he got that much in her mouth- try feeding him a treat and see what happens

I just got off the phone with the vet,he said that he should be fine. Like you both said it taste really horrid The vet wants me to watch him for a little while to make sure he doesn't throw up or anything like that but he thinks The Sammycat will be okay.

This has happen to some of my cats befor and they are still ok to this day . Some cats just reach and reach and you can't do anything about that .

Sammycat seems to be just fine he is laying on my bed snoozing right now and looks really comfy too

Ahhhh....poor Sammycat! See? He lost weight and got more flexible!! I'm glad he is doing OK.

I was worried too the first time I put Advantage on the kids. They would both scratch at their necks and then lick their feet!! Idiots lol. Then they'd sit there and lick their lips forever because I'm sure it tastes nasty.

Man I thought losing weight was supposed to be good for ya I am glad he has lost the weight too, now I just have to remember to put the advantage higher up on his neck where he can't reach it

Girl I put it way up at the base of their skulls and they still can easily scratch at it and lick thier feet. My cats are freaks.

Sicy Thailee and Angel are really good at that too with reaching up there . Some cats just can reach and reach

Just an update....The Sammycat suffered no ill effects from licking the Advantage. I think I am the one that suffered the most It just freaked me out when he got a mouth full of the stuff I will remember that the next time I apply this to him to make sure it is higher on his neck.
