My little Maisy will be getting spayed in a few weeks. She will be almost 5 months. My male cat was neutered and it was a simple procedure. Will my female have to stay over night? Will she need to wear a cone??? I am so nervous for her. We plan on keeping her in her own room when she comes home ( in my daughters bedroom) because Maisy and the boy ( Brody) play a lot so we want her to rest and relax. Any insight? Advice?

I understand how any procedure can be so stressful for you and your baby! I felt the same way when I had Pinky spayed a few months ago. On the day of the procedure, I dropped her off very early and picked her up that evening. She had a small incision on the abdomen that healed pretty quickly. Her behavior didn't change except for the few hours after I picked her up from the vet. I gave her pain medicine accordingly and she was completely healed after about 7-9 days. She didn't require a cone, and left her incision alone for the most part. Even after some licking, her incision was fine. Try not to worry about it! Everything will be fine!

Had both of my girls done at the same time, misery loves company, they came home the same day and when I got home kept them in the carrier for awhile to let them settle down after the car ride, had the carriers in my bedroom and then left the doors open for them and just let them come out when they were ready.  No cones, it's like they knew that they had to be careful and we had no problems.  The stiches they had were the ones that dissolved and so did not have to worry about taking stitches out.  That would've been me doing that.  It's hard on us because we know that we're the cause of what they're going thru and I know that I just totally fretted about it until I got the call saying they could come home and they'd be back under my care again.
