Cat Losing its hair

Hi 

Just looking for some advice have a 6 year old female cat lovely coat looks in great health, have a male cat aswell (her son) he has a longer coat about a year old. He has been missing for about 2 weeks he has come back now lost a good bit of weight but his hair is totally matted and he has started pulling it out in clumps he is nearly bald on one side. I have treid to brush him but i cant seem to get the matted hair out also very strong smell of urine off him. any advice please.

Hi, he needs a professional grooomer to get the mats out.  2nd to that I would not let him roam any nore unless you want this or worse to be repeated.

Is he fixed?

I agree sounds like he needs a professional to clean and maybe even trim his coat. Plus he obviously needs a bath to get rid of the smell.

If he was missing for two weeks in addition to a groomer I would suggest a vet visit to see if the fur pulling is health-related.
