What do you do when it's so cold outside that you can't stand to even think about going out? I'm so bored and have a bad case of cabin fever.

We are freezing today. It's bitterly cold outside and the wind is gusting about the house. We were going to go out for dinner tonight, it's been snowing on and off throughout the day. Rick kept saying he was so hungry for something sweet, so I made him a few donuts.

I usually do the same things as every day...play with the kids, clean, cook. Sometimes we bake something.

It's very cold here today too. I had no intention of going out but then I had to go to the store.

I had to go out too. But we only got down the road before coming back home. I have an old BMW that hates snow. I wasn't going to risk it with the kids in tow.

Our plows are awesome here, they are always out when it's snowing and they even went around with a truck plowing all the piles into it that were left in the road. It wasn't bad at all to go out just very cold.

Oh man those look good!  I made a chocolate cake with coconut pecan icing.  DD doesn't like nuts so she had a few pieces of Valentine's candy for her dessert tonight.  The rest of us enjoyed a slice!  We ordered pizza and wings from a nearby restaurant.  The pizza was yummy but I'm pretty sure they forgot to put the hot sauce on our wings.  I've never had such dry wings!  I'm sure they were busy!  I drove by last night and they were PACKED!

We probably could have gone out (taking our kids) during the day; but DH was busy with fixing my bathroom sink that had leaked earlier this week, re-hanging my curio cabinet in it's new spot after having our wood stove put in and we enjoyed the wood stove too.  We also set off the smoke detectors again.  My poor 2 year old was scared; I had to hold him a while.

Our weather was better than expected today.  We got about an inch of snow tonight and then the wind started.  It's LOUD it's gusting so hard around my house (currently 34mph gusting to 56!!).  I think I heard a trash can blow over but I'm sure not rescuing it!  They pre-treated a lot of the roads; but ours still looks white.  I'm sure the blowing snow is a big factor.  Our inch of snow might be a bigger nuisance than it would be otherwise. It's 17 out; but the wind chill is -3.  It could be worse; but I'm sitting here in layers of fleece with hot tea and plans to spend time with netflix and a big comforter on the couch!

I'll trade you weather. ;)

Those look yummy!

We went out for a late lunch yesterday, but the roads were already starting to get bad on the way back. There is no way we are leaving the house today. We would have to dig out first and the plow hasn't been by since some time in the middle of the night.

As long as the power stays on, I will be occasionally surfing the internet. I really should finish getting all the tax paperwork ready. I've got a mountain of books I could read.

The cold really doesn't bother me, I guess living in Jersey and through the winters for so many years I'm used to it.  I did go out earlier and just cleaned off the car, the only thing that got really hurting cold was my hands.  Those donuts sure do look good tho right about now
