A Bengal's first adventure in a boat

Our Bengal Makena is very bold and adventurous. We regularly take him hiking with us, he has been to softball games to watch my wife play, he goes to the pet store with us etc. Here are some pics from a few years ago when we took him out in our boat for the first time.

He was a bit nervous at first about being in a boat, so he stayed on his mom's lap for awhile...


It did not take long for his curiosity to overtake his caution. He was soon back to his explorer nature


The name of the boat is Puss's Adventure, "Puss" is my nickname for my wife, and this is her fishing boat

So while his mom fished, Makena explored. He was fascinated by the water.



This was a beautiful fall day with clouds reflecting in the water. I think Makena appreciated the day as much as we did.



Puss's Adventure is electric powered and Makena was not bothered by the quiet hum of the motor. He carefully watched the passing shoreline, but seemed especially curious about kayakers and sailboats. We stayed out till sunset and Makena never got bored

He really enjoyed being out and we have brought him along many times since. We typically bring a towel that he can nap on when he gets tired. Makena's natural boldness allows us take him on many adventures, but being out on the boat is one of his favorites.

He's beautiful!  And how lucky you are to be able to take him with you to places. Most cats are very territorial and don't do well with change.

He really looks as though he was having fun. He's such a handsome boy!!
