Meet Vi (Pronounced "Vee"). An adorable and very playful cat.

Here's a photo for when she was tiny (about 1.5~2.5 months old.):

Here's a recent photo of her:

And since we got a cat already (He's a male and his name is Mika. pronounced "Meeka".), W-Well...

Here's tiny Mika:

Here's a recent photo of them together:

Yeah, They had difficult time co-oping with each other for the first few months. They fought few times. But they're cool now. Don't worry 'bout it.

I was actually going to ask if it's normal for cats to fallow their owners everywhere they go. Because, You see, Vi follows me around. And sometimes Mika does too. Even in the bathroom. They both would demand for me to unlock the door. And just sniff around and wait for me to finish my business. Or just wait besides the door.

I've never heard any story about cats following their owners before. So i'm curious (And a bit paranoid). And if you have any story, Please do share. ( QvQ)/

Artie follows me around everywhere I go! That is, except when he is sleeping or eating....

Do not be surprised if Vi starts talking to you. Artie will have a conversation with me, especially when he is walking..

Again, I have heard it is because they love you and are very interested in watching what you are doing. Also, they are looking for ways to interact with your behavior...they think of us as "Big Cats" and playthings.....

Yep, my 1 cat does. The other 2 do not. He follows me everywhere, waits at the door when I come home & always needs to be in the same room as me. If I'm cooking, it comes by the table. If I'm watching tv, he's on the couch. He also follows me in the bathroom. If its night, he doesn't ask to come in the bedroom (we close the door). But if it's daytime, he cries!

it could also be a sign of separation anxiety but i believe it usually because they just loves you

Oh they are adorable!

Sinbad follows me around, into the bathroom too. Although when I'm showering he stays in the doorway like an honorguard. He tried to climb into the shower with me once and after the soaking he got he does not come near running water sounds any more!

I suspect Tempest would follow my husband around if she came out of her safe room. But she hasn't yet, so that is a discovery for a later date... I think it is normal for cats to follow people they love around. :)

Peaches follows me around the house usually when it's close to feeding time. If I go to the bathroom she will push the door open and come in if I don't close it tight. If I close the door she paws at it until I come out. She also likes to follow me into the laundry room, she just knows I'm going to be bringing out nice warm towels for her to lay on.

Where my cats are
I don't even know what it's like to use the bathroom alone anymore.
It's completely normal!  When our 2 were younger we lived in a different house and Mooch knew if we went into the bathroom we might flick milk rings into the nice garden size tub we had.  She had a blast chasing them in there!  So anytime we would head that way; Mooch would go jump in the tub!  Mooch is pretty attached to me and loves to be on or near me whenever she can.  She does go off on her own; but she looks for her time in my lap.  Right now she is next to me on the floor and Noodles is just behind me in a rocking chair.

I had a little tabby moggy who would sit on my lap when I was in the toilet. And my two now quite often shout outside the door and scratch to come in. It depends on my mood as to whether I let them in or not.
I had a dog that used to come into the shower with me. I've a proper stand under shower not in the bath.
No peace for us mums.

My cat sometimes follows me around. Once I called her from my bedroom window across the street and she actually came to the door

I feel like the stereotype that people put on cats is so untrue sometimes. So of course it surprises people when they see cats that "act like dogs". But after adopting Ming and devouring the internet's worth of cat information and videos... cats just aren't like their stereotype (sometimes).

My theory is that the stereotype comes from the large population of stray and feral cats around the world as opposed to the number of stray dogs. Of course, "wild" animals are going to be "mean" and defensive. I doubt a stray dog is going to come up for cuddles and kisses!

Anyway, tangent aside... my cat follows me around too. If I'm not home, he'll follow my mom. My family has given my cat a nickname in Cantonese that roughly translates to something that is following right behind your tail. If I move places, he'll follow me and see what's up. Then if he decides I'm staying, he'll go and roam around but ultimately come back.

I feel sorry for him when I'm getting ready to leave and I'm a person that goes back and forth, up and down the stairs, to gather my things before I leave the house. So he's always right behind me! At least it's good exercise for him.
