So I've used Rescue Remedy before and it seems to work.  However, it came in such a tiny little bottle!  I did like that you only needed 4 drops which didn't have enough of a taste to make my cat avoid her food.  It can also be applied to their ears or paws if they won't eat it.

What have you used and what do you prefer?

I've heard of liquid Composure but read that it's taste can be offputting to cats and that it can go bad.

I've also heard of Jackson Galaxy's line.

In your opinion, what is your favorite to use in terms of ease and value?  Thanks!  I'm needing to restock soon.

Sorry, we got a little off track there, didn't we!

I haven't had much experience with any of them. I'm not much help on this topic.

Does it have to be a liquid? The shelter I volunteer at uses Zylkene pills on both cats and dogs - they're ground up and given with food. It takes several days for any effect to be seen, but the stuff does seem to work.

I use Composure liquid Max and mix it into wet food.  My cats love the taste and will even lap it up if I put it on a plate.  The treats on the other hand, my cats hated.  When I first got them they were nice and soft and the cats were fine, but after a few days even tightly sealed they got hard and then no one would take them.

I used the Composure liquid Max on a territorial aggressive feral/stray cat that I brought into my home.  He was awful with my resident cat even after living in the house for months and doing very slow introductions.  He just could not control himself.  The Composure really took the edge off.  I also used it to help my resident cat feel more calm with the presence of the new cat.  I have not found it very effective in helping to deal with thunderstorms.  It helps a little, but I need to be sure it gets into the cat well before the storms start.

I have also used RR and some of Jackson Galaxy's Spirit Essence line.  I did not find either to be very helpful.  The Spirit Essence Stress Stopper was ok, but just didn't do enough.  I have used Feral Cat Rehab and it worked very well.

I find Feliway plug ins and spray to work very well too.

Thanks Jcat.  I've actually never heard of Zylkene.  One of my cats won't eat treats so I thought liquid was the only option.  Good to know that you can grind it into a powder too.

Thanks for the input. I think I will give it a try. :)
