My dad was a policeman all my life (made my life interesting, especially when I was a teenager!)  My mom worked as an Engine dispatcher for the Union Pacific Railroad, she called the engineers into work. She was an at home mom until I was 13 years old. I guess you would have to be with 4 kids in 5 years.

My mom, was a housewife for most years of my parents marriage.  Only in the last 10 or so (maybe not even that much) did she go back to work.  She used to do surveys in malls lol.

My dad, worked in the garment industry in NYC.  He was the main salesperson/office manager for a women's coat manufacturing company.  Because of this, his contacts were numerous and we got free gorgeous coats every year from childhood to adulthood.  I used to love going up to his office once I started working in the City too.  It wasn't like it was glamorous, it was just interesting.

Both, sadly, are long gone now.

Mom is in PR and is currently working for Ford Corporate office. Dad is a millwright and has worked any many different companies. Most notable would be Proctor and Gamble, all the product that didn't pass QC (for benign reasons) was divided up between the employees. I remember we had boxes and boxes of cover girl make up, tide, crest, etc at home. You name it, we had it in bulk.

My dad was a Texas rancher. He was also a DVM but not practicing (came in handy on the ranch, though). My mother was an actress, model, and Olympic fencer in her youth, but she grew up in Germany so it all abruptly stopped with WWII.

My dad is a vice president for an insurance company (business insurance). He's planning on retiring this summer.

My mom works part time as a receptionist at a chiropractor's office.

My father was a farmer.  He had to drop out of college because of the depression, no money for school.  He was studying to be an electrical engineer.  He worked for a short time for GM when they were still making planes, he was putting the wiring in the wings.

My mother was a housewife.

They are both gone now.
