Well, I got a text earlier this evening from my contact at the rescue organization I foster for. She got a call from a woman who has a stray cat that's been coming around to her porch for the last couple weeks. She's a renter, so her family can't have any more cats so she called us. Being the sucker I am, I said I'd take her in. I've already got two set of two male foster cats, they're teenage kittens, that we're trying to find homes for, but I have a spare room, so mama cat can have her kittens somewhere safe and warm.

The woman that called us is named Tamra, I was considering naming her after her. Looking at her, nothing is really striking me just yet. She's extremely friendly and affectionate, a total lap kitty. Judging by her teeth, she's a bit older, so I doubt this is her first litter, unfortunately. But our rescue organization is a spay/neuter rescue, so this will definitely be her last, and her kittens will be fixed when they're old enough.

Tammarion, as the late wife of Duke Kieri, in the  Saga of Paksennarion?   Tam or Tammy for short among friends.

Do you have our links for high pregs and delivery?  You were here earlier.

Tx for caring!

Good luck!

Hi Stefan,

I don't have those links, I'd love to have them. My cat, Marley, was a pregnant foster last summer, who I later adopted. She had her kittens at my home, so I have some experience.

Thank you Stefan! The worst part about fostering pregnant cats is not having any idea when to expect them.  I know she's in the last two weeks at least because I can see and feel the kittens moving. She's extremely affectionate, but she's a stray and I just got her last night so that may just be normal for her. I don't think the poor girl can stand to get much bigger, she looks she swallowed a cantaloupe. I have her secluded in my kitten room, there's a screen door that I can latch so she'll be safe but hopefully I'll be able to hear if she goes into labor. I think my dog will probably alert me if she starts making any unusual noises.

The waiting game is the "favorite" pastime of many of our forumists here.  So,  as a little consolation, you arent essentially in any worse situation than most others.  Be happy she is so affectionate.   If it is her natural dispostion, hormones, or her trying to please herself in -  be happy with it and enjoy.  Doing good deed and having pleasure of it - can it be much better??  :)

Good luck!

Well, between my friend Debbie and I, we came up with Roly Poly Rosie Posey, Rosie for short. :) I thought for sure she was ready to pop, but she's gonna make me wait. Kittens are very active, I can feel and see them move and her nipples are leaking just a little bit. She's been laying on the cold floor quite a lot, my previous pregnant foster did the same thing as she was getting close. I guess that many buns in the oven makes you warm. Waiting..and waiting...
